Great advice!! 🩷🩷 My tip would be "You don't need every color from every company" I have so much dip it's ridiculous 😒

I’ve only been doing dip powder for about a month or so. Your channel has been a HUGE help in learning what to do/not to do. This video was incredibly helpful, so thank you!!!!

I’m new to dipping. I just got my kit yesterday and I can’t wait to try it out this weekend. I just want to say that I’m so thankful that I found your channel! I have been binging your videos for days on end now! You have taught me so much before I have even started!

My biggest tip is. Don't rush the process. Take the time for you. It takes me longer now to do a set then when I first started but I'm more of a perfectionist now and taking the extra time saves on filing after!!

I was a licensed nail tech for 16 years. I quit working professionally before dip nails really became a thing. So, I wasn’t trained in school, in recurrent training or on the job to know how to do dip nails. For some reason, I’ve suddenly developed an allergic reaction to methacrylate. 😳
IT’S SO WEIRD! I don’t understand HOW or WHY, after using acrylic monomer & powders for so many years, I would develop a skin allergy??? 🤷🏼‍♀️
Anyway, I’m here to learn how to do dip nails as an alternative to acrylic nails. So thank you for sharing your wealth of info with us!

Great information. Thank you for sharing this. Well I have the go ahead for surgery. On the 31st of July I will have about 90% of my stomach removed. I pray that will take care of the cancer. I just want to get this over with and cross the next hurdle. Thank you for all the videos. They are keeping me from going crazy. I get a lot of support from my nail family.

Hmm... An important tip for those oily peeps out there... Wash your nails with dawn dish soap and let dry completely(for every 30 seconds of water exposure to nails, you need 30 minutes of dry time) before anything! I have oily skin and just prepping nails and wiping with alcohol wipes was not enough, I had lifting in like 2 days. That goes into my second tip...I definitely recommend good prep! It helps solve most issues that come up later. I have been doing my own nails since covid when salons were closed, not as long as Chelsea's 7 years, but I learned fast about the importance of prepping your nails before applying anything on your nails. Use a glass file! I bought some 2 years ago and I love them, so gentle on my natural nails. Thanks for the tips in this video.

I was getting sick after starting my dip powder journey within the last 6 months and just thought it was a bad allergy year but I was starting to see a pattern. The explanation of dip flu was such a relief to know I wasn’t alone in experiencing this. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and advice!!

Great tips Chelsea. I'm guilty of all of the above and then some. You were one of the first nail queens I found when I started last year and it really helped me get started. Thanks for sharing your diy wisdom.

I am now doing dip because I got an allergy from a salon. I no longer trust the, and decided to learn dip…so far so good…no issues with anything allergy and I find it very easy actually…I love the French manicure look..it is classic. I am quite proud of how my first attempt turned out and have taken your advice it turned out great. I am using low odor color me beautiful and I like it well enough. With the horrid allergies I developed to gel and acrylic I am afraid to branch out to regular brands…my luck I would get dip flu too. I am really liking the dip method. It is the only alternative I have now. Thanks.

My base coat is a drop of super glue (dollar tree) and smooth with Kiss brush on nail glue. I buy the activator from sally's and put in smaller bottle with brush. I do not use top coat. I use a good nail polish top coat or a gel top coat for shine. Have not had problems. Doing this for 3 years. Thank you for all of your great tips.-Joy

Use a microfiber towel under your setup/powders. It catches all the stray glitter and powder and prevents it from flying around

Hi Chelsea!! I love your videos!! I started in doing the nail art because of one of your videos! When I first started doing my nails, I did sculpt. I then did the gel method (I didn't know it was a thing but saw an acrylic hack) with clear acrylic and gel polish color over. Its so much more forgiving then the sculpt acrylic and getting the beads right, having the correct amount of monomer and grabbing the beads, etc. I have never used dip liquids because I was already doing the gel method and now I'm doing gel method colors. Prep is key no matter if you use acrylic sculpt or dip method and not all products are created equally for you! I have given away so many clear acrylic and primers because I have super sensitive skin. Clear acrylic is a must for encapsulating to protect the dip color and protecting your natural nail from staining. I do clear first and then after the color.

I just started doing my nails with dip powder. Thanks for the tips. The first thing I did was take one nail to used the clear, then took another nail and didn't use the clear. The clear powder helps the color come out and maintain its shininess. If you don't take the nail and dip it in clear, it will be very dull and does not matter how shiny your top coat is. Hope this helps

My local nail salon offers dip services however they don’t do ANY cuticle or nail prep…when I asked why they said because it takes too much time. They also told me dip is less damaging then gel polish so I want to continue use dip on my natural nails however I might try diy dip nails. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and I feel more confident to try it at home so thank you for all your videos, tips and tricks!

Love the tips!! I learned that if I’m going to do mani’s often, don’t use the e-file every time!

Such a great video, especially for any new dippers! If I would give advice to my earlier dipping self, it would be to be GENTLE with the filing! I'm just so heavy-handed with nail files and have done damage to my nail beds as a result 😢.

Thanks, Chelsea. I agree with Stacy, You don't need every color from every company. But it's so tempting.!! Now I'm hoping that they don't go bad, which I didn't think about when I was buying all of them.
