I thought that in one point in time he tried to be with her romantically but she declined and wanted to keep it professional so later on he gets involved with someone else in his personal life romantically, and begins trying to create a life with her and thinking of a future outside of just skating. Slowly this causes problems when he started missing practices from living so far away now because he moved to be with the other girl and things snowballed from there. The partners to began to not get along and he wanted to go their separate ways, she was so hurt and requested to stay as skating partners, he told her he would agree to continue skating if she financially covered most of the traveling expenses otherwise he couldnt continue a skating partnership. She refused the contract he gave her, so they are over professionally skating together.

He loves her and wants to start a relationship with her. You can see by the way he always looks at her cuz eyes speak louder than heart. He cares for her, supports her, cheers her up and gave her princess treated. He once confess everything but thing seem didn't work cuz she don't want these. And when he moved on find another girl who agreed to start a new life with him he moved to live with her and when this new exposed most ppl came to him as he's a backstapper. They all grown up and have right to choose whatever they want so don't blame them Niether Valery nor Vasilisa.

For anyone wondering what happened:

Valery(guy) didn't want to skate with Vasilisa (girl)one day and he told her mom and his friends why, and then she wanted to skate again the next day. But he said he didn't like it anymore because he felt like she was beating him becoming better and that she was treating him badly he didn't feel like they were a perfect fit anymore. She and someone else(don't remember who) tried working it out with him at one point and it did work out apparently but 3 days later Valery said that if she didn't sign a contract by September 1st then he wouldn't skate with her. The contract contained a lot of security apparently, Vasilisa and her friend tried reasoning with him again but he said that was his condition to stay and he wasn't going to change his mind her friends, family, coach, nor herself was going to deal with it. So they don't ride anymore and aren't together either.

The boy is Valery and the girl is Vasilisa
He worked with her shoulder to shoulder and gave her all the support and worked really hard and so did she.
But he fell in love with her and confessed his feelings. She declined and He actually ACCEPTED respectfully and moved on!
Sometime later he met someone else and started a relationship but the girl lived far away so she asked him to move. He wanted a serious relationship as his whole young life he has mostly lived only performing and practicing and training with his pro skake partners. Thats why he proposed vasilisa but she declined and he moved on with this new girl he felt it would work with. But that caused issues with his pro skate life. And vasilisa started gaslighting him. So he quit. he wanted to stay with his girlfriend cosnidering he moved far away from his home for her! So when vasilisa tried to get him back he gave vasilisa an unrealistic contract saying he wants her to pay for everything from travel to living accommodation for him which was getting expensive to pay for him. He made the contract as unrealistic as possible. Asking not only for travel, food and living accommodation but also for skating accessories. Knowing she would refuse, as thats what he wanted. He is still with his gf btw.

she knew he loved her so much she broke up with him for a older guy and he just could not skate with her anymore. her and her knew partner will never be as good and that older guy will dump her. He does not skate anymore because they have blackballed him because of her. he is a better skater than her
