Thus far, our exploration of supernatural occurrences on the US southern border has been limited only to cases which have taken place on US soil, but there are just as many, if not more haunting tales, which have originated from the southern side of the same territory. Join us for more tales of high strangeness, as we head South of the Border.

You could make a whole episode about my hometown of El paso Texas. We've got haunted cemeteries, underground tunnels, and the restless spirits of Spanish monks, old west gunslingers and young Spanish flu victims.

A guy named Mario with a mustache attacked by big old reptile monster. Are you sure the last one isn’t some very bizarre Nintendo fanfiction?

In the Grand Canyon national park there is a popular tourist shop in the shape of a small tower that sells arts and crafts, souvenirs, etc. Inside of the building all of the walls are painted with Native American images and motifs of corn fields and that sort of thing, and yet there is one very peculiar image of a cryptoid-like creature standing beneath a full moon off to the side of the main walkway. I've always wondered what that was supposed to be about.

Mexico is a landmine for creepy stories. From la llorona to chupacabra to witches and skinwalkers, ghosts, catrines and duendes, etc. Many of us have uncles and parents that directly experienced these beings.

Showing a time lapse of the art is great. Really gives you an appreciation for the amount of work put in to one small asset that makes up only one of your slides.

Thank you for covering some Mexican supernatural events.

But México's supernatural Lore goes beyond our arid North. Here in the southwest coast have the tales of Nahuales (Mexican skinwalkers if you will), Chaneques (Goblin like creatures that lure children away and eat their souls), Chanos (water spirits that take the form of giant Snakes, Monstruos crocosiles and even fish people), Harpy like witches, disembodied ghostly hands and much much More

My wife is Mexican and her grandfather has some harrowing stories of things he's encountered on lonely stretched of road in the desert back country at night, both on Mexico and Texas where he settled as a young man.

My grandparents use to travel from Parral to Mexico City back in the 50s. They had to pass near Zona del Silencio. And they constantly saw tall grays. Once one of them ran side by side the car with long strides, then crossed the road with one single stride.

I have to say, im from the sonoran desert (tucson), and theres some strange shit that goes on here. on some hiking trails youll see handpainted signs warning you to not stay there after dark, strange noises coming from washes, sometimes youll see a dark figure darting between trees (sidenote: we do have trees. a lot of them. not just cacti here), shit like that. never heard of any yellow eyed lizard people though lol.

I have lived in a remote Mexican village in the middle of nowhere when I was young. It’s terrifying at night since it gets so dark. My family has some paranormal stories they have passed on to me multiple times. My grandpa a military man before he passed away told me of a terrifying one of a large dog like creature that would stalk his cattle herd as a young service man. And my grandma from my mom’s side also had an encounter with the same or similar creature many years later. So many stories around weird situations and paranormal events. Some of which I was even apart of. It’s like I can’t get away from the weird stuff.

I'm surprised this wasn't covered before because Mexico has a ton of scary stories! La Llorona would make a great episode on its own!

Something about Mexico is just... supernaturally charged. Especially rural areas. Whenever I'm there, it's almost dream-like on certain days, when the sun is high and there's not a lot of people out. And at night, it feels like you're in another realm where you can hear the smallest sounds. Its hard to explain, but i feel like the veil is so thin in Mexico.

I can go forever on this. I got many stories of family encounters with Naguales which is like the Mexican skinwalker.

I dated a witchdoctor from Mexico city. She was apparently aware of a whole different set of causes and effects than I. Herbs, bells, strange fear of the wind, no men in the kitchen. Biracial relationships can really be tricky.
