Ahh, beloved Vegemite. Brings back memories of breakfast and a quick after school snack during my primary school years. As an Australian I would say the butter is ESSENTIAL and once your tolerance builds you can add more Vegemite. Think light brown coating rather than sparse brown sprinkles

What I do when I make Vegemite is a toast it spread a decently thick amount of butter and get a little more then she put on and spread out a thin layer of Vegemite evenly on the toast to the toast gets covered but with a very thin layer

You need to try a Vegemite toastie - which is what a grilled cheese with a smear of the stuff. Literally one of my favourite ways to eat it. Or toast, avo and Vegemite. The saltiness goes well with the creamyness of the avocado!!!!

For everyone who thinks vegemite is way too salty a good alternative is promite, it’s a bit sweeter (still salty) and much nicer in my opinion

I put it in the soup as a bouillon. And I put it on cucumber to eat it as a snack. Love it on slice of bread with cheese.❤

We have something similar to Vegemite;

We have "Marmite" and "Bovril", my family usually calls it ox blood, because of the thickness and dark in colour,

usually I eat these with instant soup packets during winter, as they act like the spice/salt for the soup to taste better, usually a TBS is enough to mix in.😄
And they're also good on crackers with cheese, pickle and baby sea muscles.

Heyyy, try to get more of an even coat, it might be easier if you don’t toast the bread. The Vegemite should look more brown on the bread :)

Here’s a tip from an Aussie! Let the butter melt into the bread then put on a thin layer of Vegemite on the bread making sure to spread it out but still cover most places it is the best way to eat Vegemite the Aussie way. It is so delicious I can’t get enough of it

Ok, a little random but I got this spread from a small business called "Firemite"
It's like Marmite but with a spicy kick to it and it is HEAVENLY
I saw it and just thought of you so I had to get it lol

hi aussie here, best way is spreads heaps of butter, then a thin layer of vegemite, to elevate it more add on some smashed avo and a fried or poached egg on top, the saltiness from the vegemite pairs well with the avo and egg

If you cant quite get into vegemite, try marmite. Its a little more liquidy so its more easily spreadable. Great place to start if you want to get into these spreads

Vegemite loving Aussie here - Butter is great, however vegemite pairs with other fatty ingredients too, my favourite being cheese and avocado. My go to toast recipe is butter, vegemite, smashed avo, thinly sliced tomatoes (salt and pepper), then some crumbled Bulgarian
I have been known to garnish with some fresh rocket leaves :)

A classic after school snack for me was Vegemite on toast with tomato on top with (a little) salt and pepper. Also I highly recommend making a cheesymite scroll with that pastry that comes in the cardboard tube, cheese, Vegemite and butter.

Add butter while toast is hot so it melts, let the toast cool and add more butter and vegemite. Perfection.
