My aussie friend brought this over for me and I’m finally getting around to trying it. But I wanted to do this right, so I researched it on reddit beforehand. I was told to use LOTS of butter — I used this salted european butter and just kept packing it on. Then I added just a smidge of vegemite since you’re not supposed to add too much.

Overall I LOVED it!! It was salty and rich and added so much depth to the toast. It also paired really well with a soft boiled egg. I’ll try adding more vegemite next time :)

Its even better when you butter your toast as soon as it comes out the toaster. It needs to melt a soften the toast just a bit, so there is still some butter layer left when you spread your Vegemite so it creams together. Like you did here, but on a softer toast. 🥰

I've seen so many (usually american) people literally scoop it out and eat it or layer it really thick
Thats like coating your bread w salt ofc it will be bad it is a strong flavour🤦‍♀️ so annoying and stupid
