Man, this is why I love community-driven open source software. KDE team heard our feedback and now Plasma is a solid, stable and polished DE. Meanwhile microsoft is trying to figure out how to sneak Copilot past all the users who despise it.

9:52 I actually used this a lot in my work! This is why KDE is great. As much as some people scoff at its customizability, it allows one person to make it be exactly perfectly aligned to their preferred experience while another don't even need to know the option exists.

3:45 Bless whoever implemented panel cloning. Not being able to do that has been one of the two major gripes I've had with Plasma, and I spent a considerable amount of time writing a semi-functional script that does that.

One of the biggest fixes in 6.3 for me is proper scaling for Gnome apps, e.g. no more massive mouse cursor when using Gnome apps. 🚀

I've beep dipping my toes into linux on my laptop for a couple years now. And I did come to the conclusion, that as a windows migrant, KDE is just the smoothest to transition to.
I have given Bazzite KDE a shot on my main desktop gaming PC lately. And the cloning of panels, and the hovering thing over the start menu might genuinely be my two biggest nitpick. Super happy to see those adjusted. Both are classic cases of "you can just avoid them" and like yeaaaa, I manually set up the panels to be the same on both my monitors, and I did stop using the start menu to anything but to be a glorified search bar, due to its annoying mouse behaviour. These are the small things that will win a windows user over, imo.

Next small thing I could suggest, is let me drag an unpinned app's icon on the taskbar to the left of pinned ones. Dont force the pinned apps to be on the left.

I just hope they can improve KRDP to the levels of Gnome Remote Desktop. Also I wish they would improve online accounts and how those accounts sync with the desktop (similar to how seamless gnome works). Lastly improvements to Kiosk fuse for adding file share location ( making it more seamless like GVFS).

KDE Plasma has become the best Linux DE over the last couple years. Before I had to use GNOME with a bunch of extensions to make it usable. Now I just run plasma in the default configuration and it's perfect.

Man! This used to exist in ancient KDE versions... but for an unknown reason, they chose to remove this neat functionality long ago 😡 So I'm glad it's finally back 🥰

I love KDE, despite how sometimes I have weird instability that nobody else seems to get. I usually fix it myself, but it's gotten way more stable. Clone panel is huge. Give us one more button to automatically clone + place panel on same place on ALL Monitors and we will be golden.

The touchpad is supposed to centered on the spacebar. The only way to have it centered is to either drop the numpad and center the keyboard, or do what the Framework 16 does.

The single most important upgrade with 6.3 is much sharper and well defined text and overall edges painting when using upscale! No need to change my glasses now :)

At 2:40 the colors are WAY more contrasty. It's crazy that you can't tell the icons are so much brighter and stand out way more, but you can't really tell the difference.
