Should You Main Resto Druid in Classic Fresh 2024? Tips & Recommendations

****UPDATES: Since this video was posted, Blizzard announced the removal of the Buff/Debuff limit. This is fantastic news for Resto druids, as you can HoT players all you want with no issues. Additionally Dual Spec will be introduced at a later time; when this happens you can have a Feral spec to pair with Resto. If you want to hybrid flex right at 60, until Dual Spec is in the Heart of the Wild spec is still viable.****

Are you thinking of rolling Restoration Druid for Classic Fresh on November 21st? Before you make your decision, hear the pro's and con's of the class from someone whose raided on Classic Era for the past year and a half.

My perspective comes from someone who enjoys endgame PvE content and heal-parsing. As an aside - heal parsing is mostly a joke, and likely means your raid is taking unnecessary damage. Regardless, pumping out max HPS can be fun.

I've never played WoW ever. But have played several mmos and done their end game raiding. I wanna play druid for the ability to do anything tank heal or dps, but I want a raid spot...if I roll druid on fresh am I gunna be gimping my chances at raid spots? what about later down the line in TBC? I don't wanna run meta just for meta sake and not only that but heck this video example there is 24 warriors, sure I might have an easier time getting ON the raid but an impossible time rolling for gear.

I just love the class fantasy of druid. I played almost all other healerspecs, and druid is just the perfect one for me.

Still on the edge of playing holy pala, but i played it for over 10 years on pserver and back then in classic. Even back then i said i would go druid this time around.

But still so unsure :D if they had a normal rezz, i would probably roll 100% druid this time around.

What addon do you use to track your hots? I tried to use Shadow Unit Frames but it doesn't track them in a raid.

Druids struggle to get raid spots as they don’t get stacked in raid. I was the only Druid in our speed runs for the last 18months.
Usually only 1 Resto & maybe 1 feral per raid.

dual spec so you no need for 0/30/21 spec anymore, you can go deep feral and full resto spec

I only got to lvl 50 on classic launch in 2018. Never tried classic since but I main resto in retail and want to try resto/druid in general in classic
