What are you planning to play in The War Within?

Here is how I pick my classes:
1. Do I want ranged or Melee
2. A rotation that enjoy doing, its rhythm and pacing and the resources the class uses
3. The visuals of the abilities
4. What roles do I want to fill(usually all, but at least two)
5. Pick one class for each armor type.(Why? Because I'm an altoholic and this limits me, warbands being limited is also helping me a ton xD )

As the Monk was released back in MoP I was a Monk main. At Shadowlands however I was tired. I first thought I was tired of the Monk and tried out all other classes. But none satisfied me. So I took a break from WoW. At Dragonflight I start playing again and thought wich class I should main. So I tried different classes again. But none does satisfied me again. So I didn’t now what to do. So I switched to a new server and start a „fresh run“. After hours of thinking wich class I should play I give the monk a chance and hell I was hooked again. I just love the monk with it’s utility and play style. It felt right from the beginning. So I learned how to tank and must say, I finally found my role and my class. For me Monk is the best class of all and regardless if it’s meta or not, I will always be a Monk Brewmaster. I learned that it’s not important which class is meta and wich not. Even monk was no meta the hole time, I out played the Meta tanks several. So my Tipp for everyone is that you should play what’s fit you the most. Learn the class and its mechanics, the dungeons and the raids and I Garantie you, you will perform perfectly and you will be outstanding from the rest.

Resto sham throughout the years has always been the most fun when the meta is chain heal. Glad they are realizing this.

With the introduction of the warband I’m going to try not maining but banding. I’ve always played multiple characters, usually one of each armour type. One usually edges ahead and is more fun and that becomes the ‘main’. Agree with advice on don’t pick flavour of the month. With this kind of discussion I think a more basic question needs to be asked first - what content are you focusing on and how far do you want to push it. There are so many different ways to play the game and that is a major factor in role/class/race/spec choice from high end raider to limited time mythic pluser to PVPer to mount/transmog collector and many more.

"Make sure you like all the specs on a class." This is good advice. Its also the only reason I don't main a Warrior. I LOVE Fury. Fury is hands down my favorite spec. I HATE Arms, Arms is hands down my least favorite spec, and I don't like tanking. So I play Mage instead. Three flavors of epilepsy all are paced differently, feel unique, and flow nicely; plus Mage has great utility. Love me Mage. Simple as.

In classic, finding a main is tricky. But after I mained monk in retail, there has never been any doubt. Been my main for years now, its fantastic and I never get bored.

Idk why but I subbed in the first 10 seconds of your video. Something about your voice and presentation idk. Keep up the amazing work.

I’ve been a lifelong (10+ year) mage with no alts. With mop remix I made a mm hunter and a demo lock which I leveled to 70 and it was fun. And then I found assassination rogue and completely fell in love. I leveled one in remix and then paid $40 to make an auto level 70 in retail which I’m gearing now. That will be my main in TWW. It’s funny because fire mage was looking OP as always and TWW sin rogue looks abysmal 😂 but I’m still going to main it because it’s just too much fun. I’ll make it work

A tank, will read all new talents for each class and decide which one I want to paly. Pala was my main so far but maybe it will change.

Survival Hunter, Frost or Arcane Mage, Demo Warlock, Some sort of Tank Class, undecided but likely Vengeance DH.

Can't wait to try totemic resto- they seem like such a reliable healer that can tackle most situations

First time i played just a week ago i started with undead rouge.
Once i hit lvl10 i took the dragon as evoker and simply wanted the ability to fly from the start.

Been playing WOW off and on since 2005. First time watching your content and giving it a like. Picking a main class should be informative which you provided. Also class tiers always change. Always pick a class you genuinely enjoy playing. Tried most of them but I've always been a combat/outlaw rogue the most. Least stressful and I'm just too comfortable with the class. But for some reason, I unlocked all my pvp achivements with the Unholy Death Knight, having the most fun playing a Demon Hunter. Still need to try those Drakothyr classes.

Considering I just level a warlock to 70 in a single day in the mop remix mode, I'm going to go ahead and level a mage and pally so I can have some potentially great alts / meta classes in my pocket if I decide that's the route I want to go down. The more classes you level in the mop remix the faster the leveling experience gets so it just makes sense to send a few classes to 70 that you think you might want to explore when the expansion drops. I really enjoyed leveling the warlock, I will probably try to main it in the expansion, but if the dps doesn't improve I might end up looking else where, we will see.

This was a great vid. I can't wait to main a DK after playing a Paladin since vanilla. Even though I do still like Pally, No longer being forced to play him is going to be sooo nice.

There are few more important things picking class - APM and number of keybinds. also some classes have completely different APM in dungeons and single target raids(Devoker and Frost mage comes to mind). You wont be enjoying your class with hand pain and if you like less keybinds you wont be enjoying it if its so bloated you have to use friend/foe macros and alt/shift/ctrl etc modifiers.
