PRECONCEPTION PLANNING | What it is & What we did | 3 year journey of preconception planning |

In this video I take you through what preconception means to us (and what it is with a few posts from other people). I answer the most frequent comment I get when I talk about preconception - which is that "I cannot control everything". My two disclaimers are 1- most of what is in this video applies to general health and not just preconception. Many of the things we did with the triple intention of health, preconception and then environmental considerations (eco friendly lifestyle). 2 - By doing these things I am not making moral judgements about people whose journey looks different.
Then I take you through the three factors that make up our preconception: 1. The physical health considerations, 2. the mental health and wellbeing considerations and 3. Our shared parting values & approach. After all that is covered, I ramble each one of one at a time, starting with the biggest things we did right at the beginning of our journey 3 years ago.
The things I discuss include: Stopping smoking, stopping fast food / take out food, switching to natural products, sourcing quality food, pro-metabolic / Ray Peat inspired health approach, some male fertility considerations & what my husband did, intentional relating and what we did for our relationship, fertility awareness method, living in sync with my cycle, PMS, parenting approach, trauma and tension release, stress management, building a community of people and more.
It wasn't clickbait - I don't discuss folic acid in this video & it was not part of our preconception journey.
