I personally find it really disconcerting that a large electronics manufacturer like Hisense would actually send a person with a wrench and a hammer to a persons house to destroy a TV set because of brown corner band. I mean couldn't they just send the same guy to pick up the set and…I don't know donate it to a classroom, board room or hospital that would be in need of a TV set, they could just do a tax write off and recoup the money. This just creates so much more waste. It just seems so unnecessary that they themselves would need to destroy a tv in order to prove that it's faulty. Anyways, this has totally put me off on buying the H9F (or anything Hisense for that matter) I personally don't care how good on paper this tv is, if they simply can't do a pickup and replace, then they have shown what kind of company they are. Great channel btw!

Just had a screen destroy done on my Hisense TV. No hammer, no smashing. The tech just scratched the surface of the screen, removed the boards (to be returned to Hisense) and defaced some numbers inside the case. He sent pics of everything to Hisense. He also suggested I not dispose of the TV until the replacement came.

Did they check it before damaging it? The email states to remove it from stand/wall, which kind of insinuates disconnecting it from everything before they arrive.

I also have the H9F & luckily my screen uniformity is decent. It's certainly not perfect, as it is most definitely darker at the four far corners, but the rest of the picture is fine. Issues like this are to be expected on a $600 TV. Yeah I went for the 55" as it's plenty big enough for me & you just can't beat the price. This is probably the nicest looking TV I've owned to date and at such a cheap price. I have zero complaints & nothing but praise. I actually bought the TV because of your excellent reviews, so thanks! You definitely helped me out.

That's actually pretty sweet because then you can take motherboard and power boards before you discard it.

The hisense tech just scratched my TV and removed what looks to be a video card. Could I still replace whatever was pulled from the back of the TV and have a spare tv? (Mine just had some white lines running across)

Same thing happened to me. It took only a few hours to submit the claim and the pics and get it approved. The technician is coming out in 9 days. Seems like a fun job to go around smashing tvs all day.
It still seems kind of crazy but better than shipping it back.

I'm going through the exact same process and panel destroy was done on monday but no word from hisense since about anything. And also my model from best buy isn't available now 75A76k so what will they do with that if you might know? Thanks

Hisense has the worst customer service team. My latest experience with a 75 inch tv still hasn't been resolved after over 4 weeks wait time. I am now waiting for a technician to come to my house and then do the panel destroy. Hisense claims I will receive a complete refund of my purchase price once the technician does his massacre of the screen. BTW, I got less than 9 months of service out of the tv. My advice: buy an LG brand.

An extra reason to get the Hisense H9f! Thanks for the update.

I was expecting a 4K video of the panel being broken to pieces with a hammer/mallet. Let us know how the replacement H9F works out.

Ok Fomo, I was the guy who told you about this on the first video you did. While you are correct in the time frame, my turnaround was just under three weeks....you are a bit dramatic in what the tech does though. You won't be needing a broom for smashed plastic. My guy came a look at my brown spot and immediately gave it a death notice. We flipped it over and he took out a ton of screws and opened up the back, then it looked like he scratched away something with a screwdriver, put 4 of the screws back to hold the retainer piece....stood up the TV and scratched three huge X's on the screen with the same screwdriver. Then he took a few more pictures and that was it. Whole thing took about 20 minutes. He promised he would send the pics to Hisense from his car and he must have because I got an email from them within an hour after he left. My new panel came three days later and while the new one has a couple small spots on the outside edge, it is far, far better than the one that they torched. BTW, the reason we are responsible for disposing the old one is because you have to recycle it, as disposal companies won't take them....unless you want to pay them about $50 to do so. I found a recycle place near me that took it for $25. I'd have to say the whole process went pretty smoothly.

That is a great way to weed out the nuisance customers. This is a bargain basement price tv with excellent picture. I see this as a bonus, now you have all the spare parts to use on your new replacement tv as needed.

Out of curiosity what would you do if the replacement they sent has a problem? Do they send you another or warranty only covers one replacement. I want to know this before buying a t.v..

Wow thats terrible, how that panel made it off the factory floor is scary. I just checked my uniformity etc through the service menu and it appears I got lucky, I see very slight DSE with no visible banding. The corners are a tad bit dark but not severe. It looks like a pretty good panel overall.
Hey have you had any issues with the firmware updates? Do you know what's been changed? Changelog?

Actually, you still don't have the replacement so things are a little premature here! I think the 2 options given suck as well.. If they were a great company you would be getting the replacement and the old TV would be picked up at the same time.. I've had no inclination to buy anything Hisense and still don't...

How long did it take for your replacement tv to arrive?
