I saw Olsen play during the 2022-2023 season and was very impressed . To all those saying “why didn’t I know about her” I’ll just say that she’s been hiding within plain sight all along.

Lets remember Catlin, Kate and Gabbie played together at IOWA for 4 years, they never transferred schools.

Trying to come up to speed with college hoops, so that being said, not familiar with Lucy Olsen. Thank you Quita for this valuable info! Next season is already on my radar!!!

Iowa won the Big10 tournament this year with Clark not having her best efficiency for most of the tournament. There was serious talk that Affolter should have been team MVP prior to the final game. People wrote off Iowa this same time last year after losing Warnock and Czinano and look at what happened.

They are getting Addison Deal the season after next season. It looks like Iowa is becoming Shooter U.

Thank you for talking about the Iowa team. Caitlin is a rock star but that supporting cast does not get the love it deserves.

Iowa brings the best out of its team. Im excited for Taylor McCabe to finally make her mark, she’s a sharpshooter who I think will improve her ball handling even more with more playing time.

Sydney is a future leader on the court, she’s the hardest worker out there and I expect to see her really take a lead bringing older and newer players together.

Hannah, O “Grady and AJ will be a fantastic rotation at post. Three different styles of post play will be able to contend with the different styles of play across the league.
With the addition of a much needed point guard they will have what it takes to go far.

Lastly, that culture is solid, and when a team has that it will always be a factor. It’s easy to rebuild with players, but the culture is the key to keeping those players tight when they struggle.

Under Lisa Bluder, Iowa has been a shooter’s school and a passer’s school for years. I think they’ve slowly built up momentum with their guard-oriented style of play since at least the Sam Logic era. In fact, Kate Martin and future WNBA draft pick Sydney Affolter have a lot in common with Logic - Swiss Army Knife guards who do a lit bit of everything. (Caitlin Clark is basically the superhero version of that.) Olsen sounds like a great fit for Bluder’s system, and Iowa will be a contender, at least, in a VERY crowded Big Ten race next year.

Lucy will have more fun with new teammates next fall. They like to run and score. Hopefully she'll have more points and more assists. I hope she'll enjoy playing for Iowa. Let's go Hawks!

Iowa will be fine. Olsen is a very intelligent person and obviously has worked very hard on improving herself. This is regrettably more rare than one would think. So many college players stagnate after landing that scholarship. Some even regress over time.

With Olsen on board Iowa can start a roster with Olsen and McCabe in the backcourt, with Affolter at the three. They can have O’Grady and Stuelke up front, and work Heiden into the front line as she develops. They also have several freshman guards coming in who will be good contributors. It’s an exciting time to be a fan of this team.

Ava Heiden may have something to say about the Iowa Bigs. Also I would not be shocked to see the game slow down for OGrady next year.

Quinta, it’s so funny to hear these new media types talk WBB. They have no idea what they’re talking about alot of the time

Big East on the road to irrelevance as a conference. Lucy Olsen will be better...she'll actually have some help. Hannah Hidalgo will continue to impress, but her height (5'6") may hinder pro prospects. JuJu needs to become a complete player, or she needs to get a better team around her, shooting % and assists need to come way up.

Iowa has major pieces returning Affoltor, Stuelke, McCabe n has the #9 recruiting class comming in this season plus now Olson. I'm not saying Iowa is final four material again but I sure ain't betting they won't be tere again either.

I know CC was the "point" for Iowa, they really played 2 most of the time, and had 3 guards starting that could run the offense, Gabby could also do it, but was more of a shooter/defensive player. I see Iowa staying with the 3 guards at 1/2 position with pure shooter 4th guard McCabe, and a single big and still running. Still need to see how Jada works out, and their soph point guard Kennise. Affolter will still be the all around best player, Feuerbach will probably be the Defensive player but also play some point and can shoot. They should still end up, was thinking top 3 or 4 in the B1G, but forgot they're getting some teams, might drop them to around 5, but will still be a 20 win team.

Olsen is a excellent player, but she played in the big east. Not a challenging league. See how uconn ran through that league. Big ten will be a harder league to compete in.

Aren't you disappointed in their recruiting process? They had Clark for 4 years and they couldn't even get any help for them to actually give Clark and others some rest?

Imagine if they actually added this a year ago, or at least another player that's able to contribute to the team and help them--they might have actually gone and won the championship, or at least been able to do better (with a fresher, more rested Clark) than they did post Q1.

I don't think this team will really change. They lost their best chance at successful Final Four visits since they were in a strong conference, and now lost their main contribution to winning games: Clark. They'll probably lose double or more of what they did with Clark. It's a shame that they never helped Caitlin Clark's teams with better recruiting.

Coach Bluder will be revealed as the actual "coach of the year" over the last years. While she did have Caitlin, the rest has been/is a hand selected group of three star players, average in talent. Bluder coaches them into styles reminiscent of Steve Nash's Phoenix suns, with less dribbling and better shooting. She does more with less than anyone else and we're going to see something special.
- look for Lucy to challenge as top scorer in the wncaa and her assists to go up a lot.
- the UConn game doesn't matter because she had a lackluster team and UConn fields an All-Star team, we all see what happens with the talent monopolies.
- We should stop comparing juju and others to Caitlin because Caitlin had the skill set of two top-tier players and it's too much pressure.
- Hannah Stuelke is underrated, her game is built on speed, not sitting on the block.

😢Stop forgetting about Molly Davis ffs!!!

I'm so tired of people saying Iowa lost *three* starters. We lost FOUR. Molly Davis, Caitlin, Kate Martin, and Gabbie Marshall. Molly being injured at the end of the season is bad enough, but you all forgetting she is exists makes it worse
