Runner disqualified after caught cheating in half-marathon

A runner admitted to cheating in at least 5 runs after she was caught using a bicycle during part of a Vancouver half-marathon.

To the lady who cheated. Please do not use your anxiety as an excuse for cheating. Just drop out of the race like a respectable human being. There is no shame in not finishing.

I don’t get it...I’m a slower runner like 11-12 min mile and I’m not sad about it...I think we need to all run our own race I enjoy my running time...I don’t do it to win I do it for me

She didn’t learn a lesson. She’s still making excuses for her behavior, rather than owning the problem. Sounds like she’s never had consequences for her deplorable conduct!

When a woman who’s probably 110lbs gets beaten by another woman, of similar height, who’s probably 180lbs, in a half-marathon, alarm bells should be ringing in your head.

After her confession, she posted a statement on Instagram, "I've been disqualified from races because they 'found it impossible to believe someone of my build could hold those paces'". Then, a couple of weeks later, she entered the Chicago Marathon again (one of the races she admitted to cheating in previously). However, her splits were so wildly inconsistent and unrealistic, that it is obvious she was cheating again. Her 5000 splits for that race, 25.36, then up to 41.18, then down to 22.22, up to 32.02, down to 29.44, down further to 19.20, up to 29.22, and down again to 19.09. She wants the world to believe she was clocking 6:10 miles at the end of a marathon in which she was previously running 12 and 13 minute miles.

I was in 9th grade, and a cross country runner when Rose Ruiz cheated to win the Boston marathon. As soon as I saw her build I knew she cheated. World class marathoners don't have cellulite on their legs.

No offense, but her body type is not consistent for a runner at that pace. It was definitely suspicious.
