In the most fearful time in my adult life (I was homeless, had an autistic son, had just lost my mom uncle and nana, my doc told me I had the start of stomach cancer, my 9 year relationship had just broken up. So my son and I lived in a tent.) I just kept banishing fear from my mind with prayer. I just had faith in god. Miraculously all my needs were met. Even though living in a tent in tornado alley is no joke. All my needs were met.

Fear and its many children such as anger, sadness, depression, hopelessness, despair, all negative emotions and the false sense of powerless they engender into a downward spiral of self destructive behaviour and alcohol abuse. God guided me in my darkness to a 21 day program that turned out to be the exactly perfect place for me to be. In this time my eyes were opened to many truths. Although there was nothing but confusion and angst I just knew it was God and I simply let go of all reservations and let him guide me through it all. I didnt follow up with meetings but talked to God everyday as he guided me every step of the way during the emotional roller coaster that is the first year of sobriety. The plain fact that I felt His presence actually lifted any need or want to drink the moment he touched me before entering rehab. In His Loving Presence all of my fears vanished immediately and He stayed with me in times those fears would try to regain a foothold. Along the way because of His guidance I gained intimate understanding of God and my relationship to him. I realized he had always been with me just waiting for the right moment, when I was ready to lead me out of the darkness of my own creation and teach me the truth so I never had to fear fear again. I reread " footprints" the poem again. That is exactly what I experienced. We are Gods Children and he Loves all of us so much more than we can comprehend. All we have to do is turn to him in our times of personal darkness and ask for help. It doesn't seem like it at first but God immediately begins to untie the knots we have created for ourselves. All you have to do is stick with the plan and do your small part and stay in the moment as much as you can so you are present to witness the miracles unfold in your life. This happened over twenty years ago and I know that if I had not taken notice that it was God moving my Living waters and simply accepted His Blessing I quite simply would not be here today. Do not listen to the false prophets that proclaim to be "experts" and espouse loud and cancerous fearful messages. Listen to that still small voice within that always tells the truth and always guides you and draws you closer. That still small voice is God moving your Living waters, your higher self, your spirit. The fearmongers, every single one of them are your enemy as they are enemies of God. May you find the Peace and Loving Wisdom of God within you this very moment. To all that suffer today, turn to that voice in your Heart ( not the ego in your head that has been built on lies and terrorizes you ) listen to The still small voice in your Heart and be patient. Give yourself the gift of forgiveness and compassion and stick with it. Let go and God will do the rest. Watch the Miracle unfold. Fear is a shadow and you are The Light. Shine your Light and all shadow is banished in the blink of an eye. I Love you all. Stay strong and put your lights on.

I used to be extremely agoraphobic with debilitating panic attacks, and with it I had extreme anxiety 24 hours a day. I was constantly fearing when my next panic attacks would be and the “what if’s” flooded my mind throughout the day (the “what if’s” equals constant worrying). This went on for over 20 years. I’m a traditional Roman Catholic (and we’ll just leave it at that) and I started going back to church about 6 years ago and it was then that my agoraphobia got better and now I walk out of my apartment and go places without any fear and I put my trust in God. Satan is a master in distilling fear into people so it’s extremely crucial to remain close to God and love Him and put your trust in Him 100%.
