Dragonball Daima Episode 2 landed...and it's DEMON PRINCESS TRUNKS!

In Dragon Ball Daima Episode 2, we finally get to see Abura (Dabura's father) in the opening credits; a surprising character who shatters expectations with his jollier demeanor, flipping the script on what we thought we knew about the demon realm. The episode also hints at a major shift in the lore, suggesting that not all demons are inherently evil, and there's a much deeper backstory to uncover which is what Akira Toriyama implied in his other recent hit animation series Sand Land. Plus, fan-favorite characters like Piccolo, Vegeta, and Bulma are set to take on bigger roles, ensuring that the action and story remain fresh and exciting as the series progresses.

The stakes are raised when Gomah, the supposed main villain, reveals a more complex side, sparking speculation about an even bigger antagonist lurking in the background. We also get introduced to Glorio, a mysterious new character from the demon realm with a striking resemblance to Trunks, leading to intriguing parallels between past and present storylines.

Imagine seeking out all 7 dragon balls for years, 3 wishes in mind. You finally summon shenron and he goes "nah, 3 wishes are only for repeat customers" 😑

Shenron having a relatively reasonable loyalty system is my favorite new addition to the lore

One of my favorite bits in this episode was Shenron. Shenron being an absolute homie by being specific with the rules of a wish with Gohma and peaced out prevented the two other wishes from being used. That.. and to be fair, he was rudely awoken so he has the right to be sassy

i like the parallel to the frieza saga where they start building a ship to get to somewhere far away -> another space ship arrives/is found -> 3 people go ahead while one person goes later. can't wait for the fake demon world arc.

Piccolo tryna one up goku with the flying and smacking his face on the palm tree was my highlight of the episode

Roshi just being a flirt instead of a sexual deviant is by far the most tolerable Roshi joke

The Nameless Namekian when he got to Earth, was a small kid that thought his space ship was only a weird house, so he didn't knew he was an alien. Ages after he separated into Kami and Piccolo, he figured out it wasn't a house, but only had the confirmation he didn't came from Earth when the Saiyans invaded and called Piccolo a namekian.

Kami was born after the Nemekians left. Cuz remember Piccolo is effectively the nameless Nemekian again after fusing with Kami, assuming that he got all of Kami's memories as well, and he said he was born after that time.

my biggest take away from episode 2 is that i wasn't expecting 'mini' roshi to look like numbah 1 from codename: kids next door.

Shenron refusing to grant more wishes is great, I always wondered if Dende could make it so that wishes could never be used against the Z-warriors.

Goku retrieving the Power Pole simply gives those strong OG Dragon Ball vibes and is amazing truly a Toriyama story.

the team of Goku, Picolo, Vegeta, Bulma, and the two Demon relam residents is more classic Dragon Ball than the GT comparisons everyone made.

plus, gives Vegeta, Bulma, and Picolo something to do.

9:42 Sixth rule of Popo's training

I genuinely believe the one shot of little Popo looking off at Goku after he did that was a nod to TFS's Popo. It had to have been, they did a similar one in Super before.

I do like the implication of Glorio's arrival that there isnt just a single Demon King, that there are apparently multiple worlds within the Demon Realm each with their own King, and Dabura was being implicated as the Supreme King, sort of the leader of the rest.

It would seem that the Demon Realm is basically just another Universe, just no one given a number designation like the twelve we know

Shenron knows how to treat loyal customers. Unlike most companies

I wonder if that last moment of the credits animation, with all the feathers flying into the heavens and forming a bird, is in honor of Toriyama.

Neva is probably big bad guy, I mean Piccolo said it himself "Namek''s dont like to be ruled" and Neva is currently a subject in Gomah kingdom (so he probably plays his own game)

I have long figured Shenron had some leeway in how the rules work, and he mostly uses them in the way he thinks is funniest, especially if it screws over bad guys.

Gomah, Arinsu, and Degesu are almost certainly the "Pilaf gang" of this series. I wouldn't be shocked if Arinsu shows up in the Super manga after getting de-aged and she's Goten's love interest lol

I will say, Glorio being from some kingdom that sent him on this task is, I'd say, basically confirmed to be a lie by the fact that he didn't watch Goku's fight with Majin Buu with his king, he watched it in Gomah's palace, as we see him there after Gomah and co. had seen it and decided to kiddify Goku and co., not to mention Shin being extremely suspicious of him.

To be honest, as a fan since early 90s, I was smiling ear to ear the whole episode.
