I have gotten back in to shortwave after being out of it for over 20 years, , and so much has changed.
y original was a Realistic DX-390, which finally quit on me, got a cheap analog, which I never really used, as it just wasn't the same, and slowly went on to other things.
With the condition the world is in today, I thought it would be great to have an alternate source of news in an emergency, so have jumped back in.
I gave away the old analog (it was really cheap even back then) and have bought a Tecsun Pl-380, 680, and a R9700DX analog. I also have a Eton Elite 750.
I was going to buy a pocket radio like the CC Skywave with SSB, then I noticed next month they will be releasing a new model the SKYWAVE SSB 2, which has a antenna jack. (comes with a wire antenna adapter) Also has a better speaker, better charging for batteries and longer stand for stability.
Price is $200, but as the old saying goes.. buy once, cry once.

Nice demo. A scan is essential I think. I'm needing a day to go over mine as I appear to be in an absolutely dead radio zone which is nice in EMP but not great for weather events!

I can remember some huge ones I had as a kid. They were the size of old school record players lol

AM radio is easy to use, sonce it only spans 500-1700 kHz, but shortwave spans up to 30, 000 kHz! You need to know WHERE to tune on SW.
Can you make a video explaining where on SW you should be tuning during SHTF or other emergency, besides NOAA?

I use a Tecsun PL-680, and a Kaito KA600.

How does Eton elite compare to the latest c crane radios, that have the same frequencies (bands)?
