Yes you can bind ExpressLRS without flashing firmware even though it doesn't have a bind button

loving my ELRS so far! I found that it was really easy to just flash my receivers from my phone via wifi like you did in the first video. I get why some people wont want to do that, but its just so easy to keep them up to date.

Thank you so much for this and all your videos Joshua! I finished my first drone build tonight (5") for my college drone technology class. I was so lost on getting my happymodel EP1 to connect to my TX12. I tried flashing wifi with the expresslrs program and it would not connect; however, this video had me connected by the time it was over. I can not say thanks enough. I have adjusted my values in Betaflight.

Ok, wow this video is great! I just did this to my quad, as for some reason I couldn't update my firmware (Whatever I managed) and so I couldn't get my binding phrase so I used this and it worked flawlessly! Woot Woot!

You need to unplug within 2s. Any longer and the counter within ELRS will reset to 0.

When I buy a new receiver or quad or expansion module, the last thing I want to do is flash it. If it will work without flashing, I always do that first even if I intend to flash it later...saves wondering if your flash worked or not if it doesn't work.

Sir can u please help me...i have new elrs happymodel ep2, and the 2.5.1 firmware, the problem is i have my remot and 3 other rx is 2.3.0 version, can i downgrade my happymodel ep2 to 2.3.0...how can i do that??? Thx...

If you haven’t already, take each screw out of the HX115LR, apply some loctite (purple maybe), and reinstall it. BetaFPV doesn’t know about loctite, and my screw were just abandoning ship mid-flight.

I think I did that by accident last weekend by accident when setting up a new quad. I noticed the double blink pattern but didn't know what it meant.

This whole process is useful for radios w/built-in ELRS not capable of having a binding phrase during configuration process or just lacking the capability during manufacturing/engineering process. The only way the transmitter can therfore communicate with the ELRS receiver, is through this method Joshua illustrated(no binding phrase option).

Interestingly Joshua, I have an ep2 on a mamba f405 with binding phrase set. I have to power cycle it 3 times every time so that it will bind. Seems that certain f4 boards put the receiver into boot loader mode.
