Imam Abu hanifa was an intellectual not in the Ilm ul kalaam sense that you deobandi maturidi follow. He may erred also because he never traveled hence had to speculate instead of observe and find authentic narrations of hadith. Intellect never supercedes the Naql ya deobandi.

And sometimes i read asr salah half and hour before magrib and sit in ibadah after my asr salah for atleast half and hour till magrib salah. I do dikr of istighfaar durood or 4th kalima or any form of dikr from asr to magrib. And i love doing this. My experience. But whenever i read asr as soon as duhr prayer as asr time starts like in saudia its 3.30 pm. After a while i get a feeling that i didn't t read my asr prayer. This is my experience and one time it happened like that i read asr salah at 3.30 and forgot and again i performed at 5.15.again i realized already i read my asr salah but from this experience of mine from my view point i feel guided like it that you should not offer asr very late nor very early unless you are traveling if your going some where if asr time started offer your asr prayer and leave if you are some where busy where you cant get out or inmarkets or not accessible for sala, as soon as you come if there is 5 minutes foe magrib read your asr salah. Asr is very important salah brothers dont miss it. And Allah also swearedin the name of asr in sura al asr. Fajr and asr are important salah but asr is most important.

Read the asr prayer in between of its start and end time. and its best to sit in ibada after asr till magrib prayer.
