RSLogix & Studio 5000 Produced and Consumed Tags | PLC Data Concentrator SCADA, Messaging, EtherNet

Produced & Consumed Model is the most reliable method of passing tags from one Programmable Logic Controller to another. In Studio 5000 and RSLogix 5000 it’s possible to create a Tag or UDT structure which would be produced by a master PLC and consumed by multiple clients. Although this process is straightforward on paper, it’s not simple to make it happen. Allen Bradley is capable of executing this procedures between PLCs with different firmware, but you need to know exactly what you’re doing.

Thanks for this, your fault finding saved me. I had exactly the same problem and needed to set Electronic Keying to Disabled on the 1756-EN2TR as you did in your video at 22:09.

I’m using L43 in Rs-logix 5000 v17 and L72 in Studio 5000 v24. In studio 5000 I can find both cpu as shown in your video but logix 5000 L72 is not available so I used L65 and tried to establish communication but no use. What can I do in this situation. Please suggest

Hello! I am adding 11 groups (6 tags in a group) of produced tags to a PLC. They are in the program and ready and I'm about to enable the consuming PLC. My concern is the producing PLC is running at 94% I/O utilization and I am concerned I am going to overload it with this addition. Thoughts?
