Being a Transgender YouTube Creator

I'm trans, if you don't already know. In this video I'll be diving into my personal struggles creating YouTube videos as a trans woman.

There's a few things I thought of after recording this that I wanted to add here in the comments.

Gender dysphoria for me also leads into my physical appearance, and it's harder to make content because of it. I like keeping my face private, so I have to resort to a bunch of editing, doing some stupid face cover-up, or more commonly, becoming too demotivated to work on the video at all.

I also wanted to stress about the importance of standing up for us, even if you're not trans / non-binary / gender-non-conforming yourself. With all of those news headlines and hate spreading across the globe (but specifically in the United States), we need cisgender (aka not trans) people to speak up and support us. There's many great charities you could support as well, such as the Trevor Project.

I started watching your videos in 2013 and you immediately became on of my favourite OSC creators, I haven’t been in the OSC for around 2 years now but I’m glad you’re doing well! Although I’m still trying to fully learn and understand trans people, modern day pronouns etc, I’m happy that you’re happy with who you now are and moved on from the past.

honestly, as a younger trans person in the osc it makes me really happy to see trans osc creators talk about this stuff, it makes me feel better about myself, and it's refreshing, y'know? Thank you for making this :-)
