Fishing in the 80s on the river ribble on a red hot day, a fly fisherman(said he was a doctor) said we were in his spot and walked further up the bank angry, 10 minutes later up to his thighs in the river he fell backwards, he came walking back and said he stood on a log under the water he said it felt solid and when he put both feet onto it it swam away he said he felt the power of it and he didn't know what it was, , we just laughed at him, but a few weeks later i heard on the radio that the police caught a 6 foot crocodile basking on the M55 hard shoulder, I've not been able to find anything related to this anywhere, but it was definitely on the radio .

Could a crocodile survive in England? Herpetologists say yes: Dr Ian Stephen, a reptile and amphibian expert, said crocodiles and alligators could survive in British waters, pointing out that alligators can live through cold US winters.
They can live here

Alligators can and do Survive the cold, if you look up online you can see photos and videos of alligators sticking up they’re noses through ice in the winter so that the can still breathe while they’re body remains under the ice

some of those crocodile sitings can actually be misidentified large monitor lizards since they look similar from a distance and they can both swim in a similar way

Crocodiles would survive during the summer months here, if it could find food (most likely someone’s pet). Alligators on the other hand, they could survive in the winter months as they have been seen surviving in colder areas than over here. But again the food situation would more than likely be there detriment.

The quality of your content is improving exponentially pal. You’ve really found your niche with the nature and animal stuff. Good things are coming.

Know you ain’t doing it anymore but I enjoyed all the big cat videos that’s what introduced me to your channel. Keep up the good work mate you’re a natural at presenting and your videos are always entertaining

It's not too cold for an alligator though. If you knew the range of temps and habitats they are found in you'd know that most of the southern UK is actually well within its hardiness.

Alligators do survive in a dormant state in snow conditions

I hate these people who use these fake crocodile toys and troll us into thinking it's real and then disappoint us.

There's a green parrot colony in the park opposite my house lol not many people even know they're there because they live in the really high trees and blend in. I think they are escaped ones that dont cause a threat to native birds, so they're left to just chill out lol

What if the Yorkshire two where released 'pets' and are now in danger themselves? I'm sure I heard when the water gets too cold they can go into a state of brumation though they rarely have to, if ever, because they don't naturally live in places where it can freeze. Maybe that's just alligators or Caimens but if they can do it, surely Crocs can. Those prehistoric buggers survived an Iceage after all

There's a crocodile in the Skegness zoo I visited five years ago and I'll never go back there because people threw coins at it to make it move and staff didn't give a toss. It really upset me.

A few pet shops over the years have burned down that had small caimen and crocs escape. so it's not to crazy to think that some could adapt and survive in a colder climate .

There's a pub in Krakow called the Ulica Krokodyli Pub & Cafe named after an escaped crocodile which was found in the local river.

I am from Bristol and there is a bloke with a pet crocodile and he walks it on a lead up the high street! I think there's a Bristol post article about it.
