The human voice is the ultimate instrument. Wish he would have mentioned that. The fact that one can train to vibrate the vocal chords at different frequencies to create music is absolutely incredible.

Lovely. Music is the incarnation of the spiritual. Even my Jewish atheist Dad agrees.

Three things jumped into my mind:
1. Music being one of the few things that almost didn't change with the original sin.
2. J.R. Tolkien and the music of the ainur and the discordance between Eru and Melkor
3. The kind of music we can get out an instrument 😆 a guitar can play a balad song or a heavy metal pice of ... tune

Really good insights. You should also elaborate on Aquinas view of beauty

“It is said by the Eldar that in water there lives yet the echo of the Music of the Ainur more than in any substance that is in this Earth; and many of the Children of Ilúvatar hearken still unsated to the voices of the Sea, and yet know not for what they listen.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion

Is that why when we sing to God we pray twice...because we are praying both by drawing the sound out through our bodies and also by the spirit drawing out through us our soul's belonging?

I genuinely think music is one of the greatest proofs of the existence of God. Jordan Peterson has talked a bit about that too

Great Video and absolutely interesting topic!
But have I missed something? Pope Benedict is still alive, isn't he? So therefore you should not talk about him in Past Tense I think 😊 May God keep him close to his heart and give him support in his sufferings.

Thank you for your amazing ministry! You are doing such an fruitful job! ❤️ May God bless you and you familys as well!

Pope Benedict himself is a good classical pianist.

I think BXVI liked Mozart's music.

Boundaries of the clear "quote"/"end quote" are blurred to a narcissistic, typical sekterian form of selfindulgance in waffeling, calling that expression of interpretation. But it is only idolatry, as frivolization takes place.
After 2 minutes listening to this, I felt so stupid, loosing my time.
Where is the original Quote of Benedict for once ?
