Correction: I mistyped George Clooney. I no longer think he is an Fi type. For an example of a male celebrity who aged while keeping typical Fi smile lines, see Russell Crowe.

As someone with a Fi smile, I always found people with Fe smiles so beautiful! Or rather the way they smile was beautiful to me, it looks very hollywood and charming!

Fascinating! I've always equated Fe to a socially "appropriate" emotional expression. Its wild to think that we could even have this subconscious societal pressure to erase the effects of the less "appropriate" feeling function. Kwazy cupcakes...no botox for me. You cant take my fi wrinkles 😜💪

Welcome back. We were just wondering a couple of days ago where you had got to. You make some very interesting points concerning differences in personality facial types. I'm really starting to pick peoples personality by appearance.

So glad to see you're back and I'm really amazed at this topic. I was just thinking about 'Fi smiles' before this video appeared on my feed haha and now I'm sure this is a real thing.

Judging from the first two comments so far, I am not the only one of your subscribers who was pleasantly surprised to see a video from you pop up on my feed. I found this video fascinating and informative for so many reasons that I will refrain from listing them here, lest I fall into an INTP discourse/monologue/ramble . . .
I will say, though, in response to your comment "I might get work done as well" (At around 6:40), that I sincerely hope you will resist the temptation to undergo treatment with Botox or any other similar neurotoxin substance to give yourself a "smoother" facial appearance. Even though you don't appear in this video, I can well recall the lively warmth of your natural facial expressions. And I would be sad to see you limit this natural gift through which you convey so much of yourself in pursuit of an artificial standard of beauty.

this is soo interesting lol . ive always called Fe smile, fake cause ( as an Fi aux ) thats literally my ' fake smile ' i do when i take pictures lol . my real smile is much more dorky & not so phtotogenic, i guess lol . just a physical manifestation of the different feeling attitudes & their values, intentions, etc . i suppose . ive also noticed those lines on the side of my nose & while i personally dont exactly like how it looks .. im starting to accept them . its just a tell of life & happiness / joy overtime :) i think its a beautful thing .

I love this topic. It is fascinating that the way someone smiles gives that much info of the person's brain. Great work! It is so funny that Fi users always wish they had the Fe smile xD

The other day, I made a comment about a new kpop celebrity named Gabi from Blackswan. I was speculating that she was an INFJ due to body language, including her smile. Someone told me that you have to go off of the functions, but once you come across many people of the same type, you'll recognize similarities in their demenour, voice, and facial expressions.

Thats why Marilyn Monroe would change her naturally smile to make it more appealing

I find facial structure itself also dictates if people will easily get nasal folds. If people's whole teeth and mouth (maxilla) are recessed backwards (so further back than ideal) then people get that certain type of nasal folds that old people get. In old people, the teeth are recessing backwards more and more and pushing the lips inward, which gives the impression of thinner lips (while the lip does not really have ot be thinner, but just positioned differently). I find a lot of ESFP''s have protruding chins, but recessed mouth areas (maxillas), which results in them having 'thin lips' and nasal folds, as a consequence of their teeth being so far back. However, they tend to have a wide palate, which gives them a wide mouth, with thin lips. Also, because their mouth is pressed inwards so much, this pushes the lower part of their nose downwards a bit, which decreases the distance between their lips and mouth.

The other group of people that tend to get nasal folds are the people that have an outwardly protruding mouth/teeth area. Darker people (black people or darker asians) more often tend to have this protruding mouth area. They get Nasal folds because their mouth are sticks out forward more than the rest of the face.

Basically the more definition a face has like protruding chin, cheekbones, mouth area, forehead or anything else, the more likely a person is going to get wrinkles there, simply because the skin is stretched around so many different shapes in the face. Also, if people use growth hormone, then the bones of the lower part of their face will will increase in size slowly grow outward too, which means they will also get more nasal folds (hence bodybuilders can get them that use HGH)

Consequently, the people that get the lowest amount of such wrinkles are the people that have not much definition (shape) in their face. So basically people who have a head like an egg without many parts that stick out one way or the other.

What is an interesting though is how the tension of the muscle use eventually will influence the shape of the face, as bones can not be moved with instant huge forces (like falling on the ground), but they can be moved by slower and extended pressures (which dental appliances for example do). Also, the position of the tongue will influence the face shape, as pressure of the tongue of the roof of the mouth forces the growth to be forward to, as it prevents the bone to grow downwards.

Also, what is interesting is that the degree development of muscles people have on their face is different. For example, I find Fe doms tend to have a lot of developed muscles in their face, because they tend to emote so much. Basically they aren not bodybuilders, but rather "face builders". Types like Ti doms on the other hand tend to have a lack of developed muscles in the face, because there usually is a lack of motion/tension in their face.

Ahh..I can type about such subjects all day!

However, to come back ot the subject, this is an interesting video and I gotta say that the name of the video is very catchy "The elimination of Fi smiles in pop culture". It's an interesting question whether indeed the emotion connected to the expression is also eliminates the matching emotion. If you are stressed you get stiff neck muscles, but I also indeed find that when I just have stiff neck muscles _without_ any cause of stress involved, I also perceive more stress even if there is not any problem that causes it. So it makes sense they are connected. It would be intersting to find out if you botox certain neck muscles for example in order to not experience that emotion.

I find that the connection betwene biology and psychology is not enough touched, while I think it's the key to understand so many things about our psychology. The body and the mind are one!

By the way, good to see you are back!

Very interesting correlation that could very well be due to Fi and Fe! Makes me wish that mbti was explored and respected more as a potentially valid way of indicating personality as there really is a lot that can be explained by it!

I think both kinds of smiles are beautiful in their own way and neither need to be discouraged. It sucks that Fi smiles are, oftentimes :/

Aside from that, glad to see you back! :)
