How To Grow A Newsletter Business (From Scratch)

So in this video, I take you through exactly how to grow a newsletter business. I share the 4 stages of growth we went through, how we got to 2,000+ new subscribers per day, and how we made $17,396 last month.

My newsletter (Profit Snack) is focused around online business. It's what I'm interested in the most, and what I have built on a platform called BeeHiiv. We have gotten around 100,000 subscribers, and cleaned our list over time to remove the least engaged people.

We are getting quality subscribers through Twitter Ads & through paid promotions in other newsletters that we hand select.

We are currently monetizing our newsletter through the use of advertisers. We do not want to charge our customers anything, so instead we make the content free & sell ad space to reverent companies. Ideally, companies that our customers would be interested in using anyways. It creates a good relationship for everyone

I also dive deep into our company financials, how we have spent $140,000 so far, what the team looks like & where we are headed from here.

if you were gonna milkroad it, you gotta stick to it

1.get exponential growth with a crumby quality outbound source
2.spam companies in your niche to advertise(w/ no actual result)
3. sell out using hype of ultra growth and one time revenue and let buyer deal w/ low quality subs w/ churn and inconsistent revenue

lol milkroad went from 250k subs from month 0-8 & then 250-275k year 1-2

Great video and love your newsletter! Can you give some insight as to when you were able to start reaching out to advertisers? I know you said engagement rate is the most important but I assume you had to have a good base of subscribers before you had success signing up advertisers. Also, could you give more detail on what software or process you used to pay your influencers for the subscriptions they referred? Thanks! Keep up the great work!!

Thanks for sharing your guide. I have been experimenting with Twitter ads to get more subscribers. However, the cost to get subscribers is much higher than $1. Can you share what strategy you used for twitter ads?
