Galaxy S23's: How to Assign a Speed Dial Number

Learn how you can assign a speed dial number on the Samsung Galaxy S23/S23+/Ultra.

This demonstration is running on Android 13.

1. Open the Phone app on your Samsung Galaxy S23.
2. Tap the three dots icon at the top-right corner of the screen and select "Settings".
Select "Speed dial" from the list of options.
Tap the "+" button at the bottom of the screen to add a new speed dial contact.
Select the contact that you want to assign to the speed dial number from the list.
Tap and hold the number key (2 to 9) that you want to assign to the speed dial contact.
Tap "Assign" to assign the contact to the speed dial number.
Note that you can assign up to 999 speed dial contacts (2 to 999) on your Samsung Galaxy S23, making it easy to quickly call your favorite contacts. To make a call using speed dial, simply press and hold the number key that you assigned to the contact. The phone will automatically dial the contact's phone number.

Obviously Zero and One cannot be used, so only 8 numbers can instantly call by holding. Others assigned to double and triple digits cannot be held.
Also noticed some but not all contacts appear from the Letter Keys. So relevant first name first letter. 6MNO will list contact name: ‘Mark’.
