Really wish the incidents where gymnasts are competing injured weren’t included. It’s wrong they were expected to and shame on USA and Japan gymnastics for pressuring them to perform while hurt. It’s time we started caring about the gymnasts and not forcing this on them when they are injured.

The competitors competing with broken feet or knees just makes me sick

It's so crazy to see how difficult the routines are today, compared to the 70's. Makes me think about what the expectation will be 20 years from now.

athletes competing with injuries is not a highlight in gymnastics history, it makes me sick that these coaches put medals over their athletes.

Nadia’s first ever perfect ten is seared into my brain. I left school that year and almost every girl wanted to be like her. 😊

The uneven bars in the 70s were so much closer than they are today. Pulling them apart means that gymnasts can do so much more, but it also drastically increased the difficulty and expectations, as well as the potential for injuries.

The one foot landing of kerri strut is a prime example of sports losing its way. Knowling sacrificing your body for a piece of medal. It should not be glorified We should be mortified that coaches and the sport would sacrifice young girls body . People over medals

Forcing injured athletes to compete and ruining their careers is not a "Greatest Moment" it's some of the worst.

They forgot the monumental flip o Olga Korbut's on the un-even bars. The next day at the gym in 1972, everyone was saying, "Did you see the Olga Korbut show last night?"

Oh, Nadia! 🥹 I still tear up seeing that 10. How well I remember it. ❤️

How does this not have Olga Korbut's performance from 1972? Best of all. Shaped the world of Gymnastics

The ironic thing is that Keri Strugg didn't have to do it again to win gold. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but the USA would have still won gold without her doing the vault again. It had something to do with the point system.

It's sad how much pressure and stress they are put under, as well as the pressure they put on themselves.

I don't think athletes performing hurt should be remembered as "best" moments. It shouldn't be something to admire :(

I still can't watch that Kerri Strug vault. So tragic. I guess the Japanese (male) gymnast dismounting the rings with a fracture knee is just as horrible!!

Gymnastics is the main sport I love to watch how it has got to be hard, I did it with my sister when I was young but was not flexible enough to do splits, my sister and I probably could have kept practicing but we loved doing dance lessons and dance recitals!

Whenever I watch Nadia's perfect routine, I can't help but wince, it looks like it hurts.
