I feel there is a lot of potential. Maybe they should do a Netflix series leading up to the first Cloverfield and the events directly after the bomb dropped at the end of Cloverfield 1. It could explain the corporation behind everything. Instead of us having to dig and find the lore they could just come out and say it lol

Absolutely no need for a new movie, should of have left it at the first. Im sure its managed to be ruined somehow as they always do.
Also Cloverfield did not rekindle any kind of love to Kaijus. They barely show the Kaiju in the movie how could it light the love for them :'D
