Information I read online is a bit different. There weren’t any “test audiences”, the first version was in a teaser and it wasn’t just smaller, it was really rushed and shoddy CGI that looked bad. I saw a side to side comparison. They didn’t just make it bigger, the completely re-did the CGI and made it look much more polished.

The idea that audiences complained about it being simply “too small” is misleading.

There’s a theory that the cameraman’s name, Hud, was a reference to a HUD, or Heads Up Display. Basically, the interface by which someone can view an event, usually used in video games, but also any viewing display in a vehicle or device that can provide extra context to what is being viewed.

No one complained of it being too small, it was a teaser trailer and the cgi seemed rushed so they polished it up and added 50% size increase
