The Xia Dynasty - The First Dynasty in China

Показать описание
The Xia Dynasty, traditionally regarded as China's first dynasty, is shrouded in legend and historical ambiguity. Believed to have ruled from around 2070 to 1600 BCE, the Xia Dynasty laid the foundation for Chinese civilization along the Yellow River. According to ancient texts, the dynasty was founded by Yu the Great, who is celebrated for his efforts in flood control. Although its existence has been debated, archaeological discoveries, such as those at Erlitou, suggest that early state structures did exist during this period. The Xia Dynasty marks the beginning of the transition from prehistory to a more structured society in ancient China. The dynasty's decline marked the transition to the Shang Dynasty, which would continue the development of Chinese culture and political organization.
