Tire chains are designed to be threaded from right to left with the "draw" chain loose string being positioned on the right hand side - that way the red fastener hook (seen at 1:24) will not face (and possibly damage) the tire. Make also sure your tire chain fits the wheel it's put on - if it's too long, like the one in this video (slightly), it will damage the hubcap. In order to prevent the very same thing, the chain MUST be distributed evenly and must by centered, thus leaving you a little clearence between the chain and the hubcap ...

Pro tip. if you use them, put them back in order. It will save you a lot of "fu%& !!!" next time you will have to use them :D
