This is an interesting option to get started with the hobby and again a unique product from Vaonis. I have tested the Stellina and Vespera and found that they do a really good job. The community around these scopes gets some amzing results out theses things. I had the chance to visit the new Vaonis HQ in Montpellier last year and meet the team when I was touring through France. Amazing people and a really good work culture in the company. With the new products they have announced yet, they take a huge step forward and bringing more people into this hobby.

Although many of us are pixel peepers who care a lot about the hobby, many would prefer a low level entrance to the hobby to ensure they get to have fun as well. Hopefully the results matches the price!

This could work really well on a star tracker, for run and gun situations or travel. Many of us already have one of those.

From what I can tell Hestia is a tiny 30mm refractor design. This is very small in terms of light collection and resolution, personally I think the plastic box part is a gimmick to capitalise on the 2024 Solar Eclipse over the USA. The app part of the package however seems to be innovative from what I have been able to gather. I would buy the app if it was available separately as I think it could be very useful for electronic assisted astronomy and entry level astroimaging on just about any small or large telescope.

I would think tracking would greatly improve the performance. Otherwise, it sounds more like a novelty. That said, it appears it can take a respectable image of the Hercules cluster. That's pretty cool!

Less than $200 is insane, but that definitely makes it affordable.

Does it need setting up - aiming to Polaris, etc. etc. OR just aim and it can track??? Thanks anyone.
