Hestia is the oldest of the 6th god and goddesses and the first eldest daughter of Kronos. she is the goddess of hearth and family

Quick fact, in Greek mythology, Hestia was so powerful and so favorable (adored) by others as an infant, that her father feared she would overpower him. And so, her father ate her. Shocking the mother of Hestia (even though she threw one of her children down from heaven to die).

In other mythology, Hestia is described as calm but was so powerful but because she disliked war, she refused to release her divine powers on other deities. And gave up her throne.

Literally my favorite scene of her. It's a huge reminder that the gods do have godly powers. They have just chosen to be with mortals. And chosen not to display their powers. It's really amazing because she gets a lot of hate because of her character. But it also fits her origins very well. She cares about family. And so far in the series, he's rhe only one in her family. Of course she'd be over protective and care a lot about him. Granted a lot of that is shown in how she obviously likes him. But we also see that she cares more then for just that reason.

I really like this moment because the gods are so laid back in this world and just wander around doing whatever they want, but Hestia showing off her divinity reminds you these are actual gods that none of these people could ever take in a fight or do anything to stop them.

People who dislike Hestia don't understand that she's literally the Goddess of family. So she's like the protector of every family or Familia. That's one of her dominions and it's one of the reasons why she's so clingy and protective of Bell. It's not only that she's in love with him. Personally, i prefer having her as a Goddess compared to the pervy and touchy drunkard Loki or the manipulative Freya who sees her followers like toys/servants/slaves and has a dark mad love for them. Yes, she can be really nice, elegant, cute, erotic and loving, but her dark side is seriously hideous.

Greek Mythology Fun Fact: Kronos, her father, was terrified of her daughter, Hestia, because he gave birth to a God who is more powerful than him in every aspect. So terrified that he swallowed her whole and stayed in his stomach hoping that she forever asleep and not grow. He did this because he had a vision that when Hestia grows up, she will become strong enough to annihilate the Titan race.
