Best anti-alcohol ad I've seen in a while

“You could’ve shut your mouth, cooked and made as much money as you ever needed. It was perfect. But no, you just had to blow it up. You and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man. If you’d done your job, known your place, we’d all be fine right now!”

Wow. Walter really wanted to let his brother in law know that Heisenberg may still be out there to help with his investigation. What a wholesome moment!

This is actually so well written. Walt hated that Elliot and Gretchen got rich from the company that he started. It haunted him for the rest of his life. In this scene he basically reacts to trauma from the past. He is afraid that someone else might thrive on his ideas. This makes him unconsciously want to get recognition for his hard work and intelligence.

This is the moment Walter stopped being a genius.

This proves that you can actually see an ego start to boil.

Bruh this scene was probably the one that made Hank the most furious when he figured it out.

I know everyone is talking about Walt and his ego but I wanna take a moment to appreciate how Hank responds to this. On nothing but Walt's opinions he reconsiders everything he'd previously thought about the wrap up of this case. He takes Walt's word for it and pursues that angle. I enjoy little details like this that show how much Hank really respected Walt and his intelligence

Skyler’s expression in this is great. Subtle but clear “bruh”

This was literally one of the first signs of his downfall. He just could NOT let someone else take credit for his work, even if that got him off the DEA's radar.

One can only imagine what the hell Skyler was thinking during this whole conversation.

If only Walt could’ve just stfu and not be so butthurt about his ego and pride, Hank would’ve stopped with the investigation.

I love the way Skylar looks at Walt, she’s so worried that he’s so wasted that the wrong words will slip out of his mouth.

The way the show explains Walts ego and insecurities slowly build and build until he can’t contain them anymore is nothing short of incredible.

I get why Walter had such a big ego. He never really felt appreciated for his real capabilities, and once he got a taste of it, he couldn't let it go.

Walt should have took satisfaction with the fact that Hank is indeed describing Walt's work (without knowing it) and calling it genius. That should have been plenty for his ego.

Walt: "Hank I've killed people"
Hank: "HEHE, looks like we got a comedian over here, AIN'T THAT RIGHT GOMEY?!"

You can see the moment Gale taking the praise gets to Walt. He probably would've let it slide but I think when Hank mentions "he could've done something good if he applied his genius somewhere else" was the last straw because it reminded him of Gray Matter. I swear the storytelling and acting of this show can be praised forever

Considering how confident Hank was that he had caught Heisenberg, the fact that he listened to Walt's opinion, even though his his eyes Walt had no police training or anything of that nature, in my opinion shows how much respect he had for Walt.

In fact, before he discovered the truth, you can see all through the series that Hank really does love Walt and considers him one of his closest friends. It's a shame that Walt through everything he had away, all for money.

How frustrating this has to be for Skyler lol. She's already compromised her morality and sense of safety to work with Walt so their family would be protected, just to watch this drunk narcissist literally bait their biggest threat into continuing to pursue him to satiate his ego.
