Earth Expeditions: Hunting storms in America's Heartland

#EarthExpedition ACT-America is studying the sources and sinks of atmospheric carbon in three regions of the Eastern U.S. with two NASA aircraft. In the Midwest, local sources and sinks, such as summer crops, can make a huge difference in carbon concentrations. ACT-America's research looks at how weather systems transport these greenhouse gases. the measurements complement long-terms observing systems that track greenhouse gases and fill in the void of good atmospheric data about sources and sinks.
