My Controversial Thoughts On Bleach!

Before I start to make Bleach content I thought it was important to give my honest thoughts on the series because the things I've said about Bleach Currently don't reflect my genuine opinion on the series.

Bleach was one of those series that when first watching, I thought was good, but not amazing. Overtime it really has grown on me. Kubo's edgy and yet subtle character work has become some of my favorites in anime.

Say what you want about Bleach. But Kubo's drawing style, character design, and drip is immaculate. Definitely up there with JoJo when it comes to drip

People say Bleach is the "worst" of the big 3 yet it by a MASSIVE gap has inspired the most things in new gen manga/anime.

Naruto talking to Gaara is way different, he's a hurt child empathizing with another similarly hurt child, showing him that his pain isn't unique, he isn't alone, and he can find a better way to carry himself in the wake of his pain. You can see the meaning of this reflected in Gaara's character development and speech before the 4th War.

He's not just spelling it out for the audience, it's a moment of character connection, with direct implications on the future of the story.

I know how you feel about Kenpachi vs Nnoitora because I'm the same, but at the same time I feel the same but even stronger about Lille vs Shunsui. Been randomly popping up in my head since the original chapter release date, so like 7 years. Lille might not be a complex character, but everything with him in the story was cool. Hearing how you didn't like any quincies and Lille specifically was not cool.

I never understood western fans saying bleach has “bad art” when its use of negative space is directly lifted from very traditional Japanese artistic traditions. Just culture shock I guess. But it’s crazy how so much of the well of bleach was poisoned by frankly very stupid and loud people not understanding it and declaring that it doesn’t make sense…because they don’t get it

I never understand the animosity between fans of each of the big 3. They all feel the need to shit on the other, for no reason. I've read One Piece and Naruto since they first came out (which was incredibly hard, because I was still learning Japanese while in the military, lol). I picked up Bleach when it first came out, too.

While Naruto is my favourite, I very much enjoy and have a lot of love for both One Piece and Bleach. I think all 3 are amazing series and are all time greats. Great video and glad you finally read it.

1000% recommend watching TYBW anime. Kubo is adding stuff he couldn't do because he had to wrap the story up. I think at the end of the season 2 we've gotten like 5 episodes of anime exclusive content

I think i like the power system more in bleach than in naruto. I think the fact that the powers are tied to the individuals soul and that everyone’s zanpakuto is unique is cool. And the concept of bankai is so fun bc you are constantly wondering what characters bankai would do / look like.
