Being a Youtuber who focuses on a specific genre of music really feels like a thankless job. At the end of the day, most people will have come to your channel because you were talking about a particular artist they liked. Some may have stayed to watch other videos that interested them, but at the end of the day, for most of those people, you're only as interesting as the music you're discussing. Also, I think there are very few opportunities for music Youtubers to get attention for things that aren't the reason people are interested in them in the first place, especially when it comes to self-produced music.
