Tesla Model 3 2021 Refresh - New wheels, center console, power trunk, chrome delete, MORE range!

Tesla just updated the configurator and confirmed the latest rumors.

What's new?

Exterior: New wheels design & mat black is replacing all chrome trims including aluminum doorstep.

Interior: New center console, plastic scroll wheels on steering wheel, USB C ports, power trunk, double glass on the front doors, heated pump with Octovalve for a battery pack, 64GB (128GB in Q2) USB stick for Sentry Mode, heated front seats are now standard on Standard (Range) Plus, optionally via the app, you can unlock rear heated seats for 300 USD. Q2 Added heated steering wheel on Long Range and Performance. All models get extended wood trim to the front doors.

The most significant upgrade is a new 85 kWh battery pack (82 kWh net) and range increase on all models, including a heated pump that should prevent battery drain in cold weather. A new battery has more energy-dense battery cells produced by Panasonic. These new cells are still 2170 battery cells and not the new 4680 cells developed by Tesla and unveiled at Battery Day in September of 2020. Although, they could benefit from some chemistry improvements developed by Tesla for its new cell format.

Standard Plus: 409 to 430 (+11 km) in Q2 430 to 549 (+18 km)
Long Range: 560 to 580 (+20 km) in Q2 580 to 614 (+34 km)
Performance: 530 to 567 (+37 km)

In 2021 Tesla is planning to open its European factory near Berlin called GigaBerlin. So European customers are hoping for price cuts. Considering current Tesla cars are shipped from the USA and China, and therefore import taxes are raising the base price which Tesla isn't financing, but it is toppling on customers.

Covering Model 3 obviously not "Model Y". 😅 And the range increase of SR+ is +11 km, not +100 km. I was looking at the real range on EV database. But real range will be bigger now for about 100 km as the Refresh model comes with a heat pump to compensate for cold weather battery range lost.

Don’t think I can send a photo but the old range (at least from a month ago) for the standard range plus was 402km. So it’s a nice bump but not the 100+ you described! Just an FYI

The price on the US configurator is without TAX isn it, becuase of different tax load in every state...? In Europe they have to include it....if I understand it well...
