Antonis Tzelepis plays his own melody in the ragtime style on the piano, which is why he calls it "Ragtime melody". Ragtime was the first style of jazz, music mainly for solo piano and less for orchestra. Its main musical characteristic is the rhythm that is short, usually two or four quarters. According to Marshal Sterns it is a kind of rondo that comes from the menuetto and the raid. The ragtime style was adapted by Ferdinand pianist, orchestrator and conductor Jelly-Roll Morton. The ragtime compositions, the so-called rags, were also part of the New Orleans jazz repertoire and the Dixieland white school. It was particularly developed between 1900 and 1915. Ragtime is still played today by traditional orchestras. The main representative in the composition of the rags was Scott Joplin, composer of the Entertainer (in the film: The Sting).
