This is the 4. video from a series of Jawa 350/639 engine renewal videos. This time we are going to remove the pistons and cut the engine into half with one selfmade tool. (Please excuse the low quality, although now it's a bit better than the engine removal video.)
Please note:

THIS IS NOT A GUIDE ON HOW TO DO IT!

Next parts:

Engine into the frame and start

Mounting the engine together

Mounting deadmass compensating panels

Removing the crank, comparison btw. serial and sport crank

Parts before:

8:25 The quicker method (that most people use) is to place a piece of long wood against the right hand wall of the carb well / carb bay and hit it with a lump hammer until it comes a apart. This method takes 20 to 30 seconds and does zero damage, which is why most people use it.

I've been rebuilding Jawa & CZ engines for 40 years and have always used this wood & lump hammer method.

The metal seal ring has drifted out enough to jam against the rotor locator peg. Driving it back in slightly will release the locator peg.

It is important to account for all 28 needle rollers when removing a piston, because any remaining loose in the engine will wreck it.
