NASA on Monday postponed for at least four days the launch of its colossal next-generation rocketship on a long-awaited debut test flight, a planned six-week uncrewed voyage around the moon and back 50 years after Apollo's last lunar mission.

NASA leaders give an update on the launch of the Artemis I flight test, originally scheduled for Monday, Aug. 29. Following tanking operations, engineers were troubleshooting an issue conditioning one of the RS-25 engines (engine 3) on the bottom of the rocket's core stage. All engines must reach a proper temperature range before they can be started. Teams are poring through the data and will set a new launch date and time.

Artemis I is the first integrated flight test of the Space Launch System (SLS) and Orion spacecraft that will return humanity to the Moon. As NASA’s most powerful rocket ever built, SLS will launch the uncrewed Orion spacecraft on a six-to-eight-week mission around the Moon and back to Earth. Orion will travel 280,000 miles (450,000 km) from Earth and 40,000 miles (64,000 km) beyond the far side of the Moon, carrying science and technology payloads to expand our understanding of lunar science, technology developments, and deep space radiation.

Better to wait a week or two rather than lose billions on a rushed launch.

44 minute update?
"We had a problem, we'll try again later."

That's all you had to say. 🙄

Humanity is magnificent.
If we want we could have been on mars.
But sadly we choose to fight for control over some land knowing some day anyways we all will die.

I agree. Remember when NASA pushed a launch that resulted in the Challenger Explosion. Patience is a virtue.

It requires money to make money. This is the best secret I have ever discovered we don't make money we EARN and MULTIPLY money

Wow he had to mention the Vice President. So we start off with a science & engineering discussion and then we have to be reminded that the leaders of the federal government are clowns.

There will always be bugs in new technologies, I hope the team can figure out why' the pre-start engine cooling to prevent initial over heating spike that could cause cracking of the combustion chamber. I Wonder the Artemis 2 Manned rocket can use the 50 Year Old Lunar Rover, That Was Left On The Moons Surface, Can Be Used Again??? Maybe With New Li-ion Batteries??? Or Will NASA, Have A New Version of A Rover For The Manned Mission???

This dude still believes that he travelled somewhere. In reality it was a simulation.😂

Can the space mission also put a bright LED on the moon that can be turn on and light must be strong enough it is visible to humans eye from earth?

Scrubs happen all the time. Its not a big deal for the program

Bravo au responsable de la NASA qui à eu le courage de reporter le lancement malgré la pression médiatique, je lui souhaite de garder cette maturité pour les lancements future.

How did they ever get to the moon 60 years ago I don't believe that they ever did.

NASA Artemis first launch failed? Rocket science is not simple. Maybe can collaborate with other countries, especially China as it already has set up its own space station.

Maybe it's time to ask China for help!

It takes 42 days all of the sudden. To NOT land. Apollo did it in 8 days and played golf on the Moon for two days. What a laughable disgrace.
