That was such an obvious let, I was shocked when I watched it. The sound of the ball clipping the net was so clear. I guess the only thing I could say for the umpire is maybe he genuinely does not pay attention to whether the serve hits the net because the system is supposed to call it? But he still should be watching the lines and had to have heard that ball clip the net.

Great sportsmanship by both but honestly Grigor should’ve taken the point replay. It was such a key point, and Rublev would still have his first serve anyways.

Sometimes with close/tight let calls, I think it's actually harder to spot sitting in line and above the net where the umpire sits, hence why before electronic calling it was deemed necessary a line judge sat level with and at the net to monitor let's ... I think there is an issue of over reliance on electronic calling but it also isn't helped that if that fails, the umpire isn't in the best position to spot it...and he can't make a call unless he is a 100% sure...
