I Bought a 'Refurbished' Xbox 360 from DKOldies... for $145??

I bought another refurbished console from DK Oldies to check it out... this time I went with a refurbished Xbox 360. For $145 it better be in very nice condition... check out the video to see what DKOldies did to the console and if it was actually refurbished...

If your paying $145, they should provide ALL OEM accessories and cables. Even the power supply cable. That should be OEM too for that price

I literally bought a 360 slim 250gb in September off eBay for £50, listed with 7 games, came with 13 and a controller. Has a mild humming noise and mild scratches on the top but works perfectly fine. Anyone who'd buy from DKoldies and legitimately be satisfied with the quality and the price is asinine to me, but hey Joey threw in a free keychain so how could you not be satisfied?

I've seen their "refurbish" process in a few videos. They mean well by cleaning it and such, but refurbished means restored to factory status. Missing memory card hinge, dirty interior, and dried thermal paste doesn't exactly qualify as refurbished. A magic eraser doesn't refurbish consoles. Not only is it not what you ordered, but you got ripped off. You can get a verified Jasper for less with an official controller. On the flip side, DK Oldies is running a business though and don't charge individual prices but do offer guarantees, customer support, etc.

Thats a horrible deal. I personally got a CIB Xbox 360 E with a 250 gigabyte hard disk, 2 OEM wireless controllers, a Kinect and some games for 91 Bucks in a local game store in my city. Thank you for warning me Jacob. Now i will make sure i will not order from DKOldies as i don't want to receive a console in the condition like that.

If DKOldies did a great job 100% of the time and you were basically guaranteed satisfaction, I suppose I could see the pricing. But it's freaking ridiculous they charge what they do and I've never seen a YouTube channel be impressed by what they got.

Marking the prices down is more of a marketing tactic then adding the “deal” makes most of their customers think they’re getting a good deal

Not one part of this video surprised me. DKOldies already had a major red flag with their pricing schemes. The "markdowns" are false sales. I already doubted them when I saw their shorts with the "lucky customers" getting freebies. Thank you for making this video and confirming suspicions. Sorry you got the short end of the stick.

Some companies are willing to gamble with their warranties . It's a lot more work to apply new thermal paste and they know that the buyer is probably not going to be playing heavily on it so they're willing to take the chance that it will work through the warranty period with the crusty old thermal paste . It kind of shows that they don't care about longevity of the console or the customer in general .

I've visited their website to check things out and their prices are ridiculous and with the broken memory unit cover generic controller and lack of protective packaging make it a clear choice to buy elsewhere. Now that you bought from them and had issues and now I found out a friend bought a huge amount of stuff a majority of which arrived broken/missing I'll stay clear of them.

No original controller, but at least you got the original thermal paste.

I think you got lucky with how clean the inside was. DkOldies refurbishing is literally them wiping off the console with a rag and to scrap any stickers on the outside or dirt stuck to the console with a scraper. You can see the quality of their "refurbished" consoles also with how they didnt bother to replace the missing front port door or add new thermal paste to the heatsink.

I ordered a copy of Minecraft for the 360 from them a month ago, I paid extra for the "Good" condition game and case. The case was covered with dings and scratches, and the disc had lots of scratches and scuffs. Needless to say, I won't be trying them out ever again.
