EP 55 | First Cold At The Cabin, Firewood, New Solar Battery, Building The Kitchen

In this new episode "First Cold At The Cabin" , we were caught off guard by an incredible nighttime temperature drop. We went from 22 to 5 degrees Celsius in just two nights, and this completely surprised us because such temperatures are typically expected here in late November. Despite the challenges, life at the cabin goes on. Thanks to the support of an important company, I was able to install a second solar storage system, small but essential for the long winters here. Gathering firewood is a priority, but finding a way to raise the temperature a few more degrees at night will also be a challenge, given the impenetrable stone structure of the cabin.

Hi Alex! It’s wonderful to see that the dead trees are sprouting new shoots. The tendency to prohibit burning wood for heating is absurd since it is part of the CO2 cycle. If forests in Italy were maintained by cutting down sick or dead plants to create biomass, allowing the young ones to grow better, we could be free from pollution and have idyllic undergrowth. The ancients already knew how to do this.

Es ist schon ein etwas abendteuerlicher Platz auf dem Euer Haus steht: fast keine ebene Fläche rund um das Haus (wozu hat es eigentlicher früher gedient, zu welchem Zweck?). Das macht die ganzen Arbeiten natürlich viel beschwerlicher, als auf ebenen Plätzen, wie z.B. in diesem Video das Fällen von Bäumen zur Brennholzgewinnung.. Aber trotzdem gestaltet Ihr das Innere des Hauses immer schöner! Ich wünsche Euch viel Kraft und ein gutes Gelingen all Eurer Arbeit und Mühen.
