Great analysis, but don't let this beautiful piece of music overshadow the fact that we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

The really sad part is that New players won't experience this song at it's peak.

I’m honestly sad that we lost the part of the game where this song plays for the first time. It was SUCH a mood setter

Its been so long since the start of Destiny 2 but I will always remember that first mission. The genuine sinking feeling when our ghost told us that the Light was gone, the misery in their “If you die now…I can’t revive you.”

It cut so hard and I fought like I was last alive in a Raid with that one mag of SMG ammo

Another one I’d recommend is Deep Stone Lullaby from the Deep Stone Crypt raid. It’s amazing.

One of the best tracks that Micheal Salvatori has made since the Halo games.

Red War was about you losing everything, and fighting to take it back. Being told you were nothing, having everything stripped from you, and clawing your way through insurmountable odds anyway to prove that you were more than what you were given, and would never be alone even in defeat. There is always another fight to win.

Hearing this now that the Red War is dead and gone makes me want to cry. It's such a beautiful piece, and new players not being able to experience the emotional impact of the scene where the song plays is heartbreaking.

During 2020 after Covid broke out, I was really getting into the Destiny lore and almost roleplaying as a guardian on a daily basis. On one day as I was playing the game, my father had a heart attack and that was the last day I saw him alive. He died in my arms. This song helped me process the grief from that. I couldn't play the game much longer after that, but for what it's worth, it really helped me emotionally.

When this played in the beginning of the red war campaign. After all I did in destiny 1 i could feel physical sorrow and loss. Seeing my home being torn apart by an overwhelming force and all my power being ripped from me. God I love destiny. (Edit) you should also check out deep stone lullaby and regicide.

I was not expecting Destiny music. It is really good, just was not expecting it.

Incase you guys didn’t know, when in orbit this actually has a small chance of playing except it’s all vocal and it is just very emotional. Especially after all we’ve lost… Amanda, Speaker……… Cayde….

Having listened to this hundreds of times now, this song has taken it's own meaning for me now. I've played Destiny 1 for nearly a thousand hours and made friends along the way. Unfortunately Destiny was the only thing that connected us and some of us had others things in life to do, so we drifted apart after the first game. Listening to this before, it held hope. And while it's still there, the hope isn't for things to remain the same. Rather, it's hope that one day I'll find that happiness I lost after realizing what would come after finishing the Destiny 2 campaign.

I have played Destiny 1/2 over 2000 hours I was hoping you could react to the music. I recommend 2 more songs "The Taken King" theme and "The Witch Queen" theme.

the fact the any new lights joining the struggle against the darkness now will never experience this mission is honestly sad. Having to sneak through the city after the Cabal attack, with no light, the tower destroyed, no idea who is even alive, with this enhancing the the atmosphere of "what just even happened?" was a first play through moment I'll never forget.

I think the best thing about this piece of music is that it portrays the Red War campaign perfectly, the feeling of waking up without the Light anymore, the feeling of hopelessness in losing to the Red Legion, then to regrouping with your Ghost to escape the last city and moving forward with a plan to fight back and take back the Traveler from the Ghaul and the Red Legion. And just to hear it at the end of the campaign in a sense of urgency and despair to save the Vanguard from almost getting killed by the Red Legion felt so epic. And that middle part too at 6:30 is just awesome because it reminds you of your past then cuts back to the reality of where you currently are

This music is SO GOOD
The melody is outstanding, and everytime I listen to it I remember the old days, losing my light during the cabal invasion, leaving the Last City trying to regain my lost light and my link with the Traveler...

Deep Stone lullaby... That one hits so hard too. A song about falling asleep for the last time, only to awaken in something new. It's amazing.

Im a destiny veteran, this song makes my heart spike of saddness. Its that feeling of loss, yet feels like there is hope. But that hope feels so slim, that your just left in wonder. No video game OST does it better then destiny, to give you that feeling. I think the only other video game that comes close to giveing that feeling is dark souls
