I see lots of comments saying how badass Garp is. And that is true. But I think that if you listen to the lyrics then this song is especially appropriate for Garp, Kuzan and the Marines as an organisation. "I only wanted to be part of something" indeed. The World Government is really an 'Emptiness Machine' for people with good intentions.

While Garp is an absolute beast, I love Corby so much in terms of character development and Garp actually contributed to that. Like, we know Corby never was someone to whom bravery comes naturally, he always had to fight with himself to become braver. But at beehive we really get to see why he gets called a hero - he offered himself up to save the others, then he freed as many civilians/captives as possible and lured away the pirates all while knowing all too well that he is not strong enough to even just hold them off for long and getting scared by the overwhelming power of Blackbeard‘s crew. It was his care for the people that made him push through, push this far, against all odds and against his own fear. Thats a true hero - not someone who sacrifices, but someone who pushes away their fears for others, especially when they have no chance of getting out of it either way. Corby wasn’t doing all of that in true hope he himself could escape, he knew his odds. He did all of that for the other captives.

Garp is such a badass but every time I see Garp, I get a lot of hurt, frustrated, sad, angry and helpless realising I can't pull him from One Piece Bounty Hunter game. He's so badass there too but my luck isn't helping me. Dammit!
