Today is a quick video on making a DIY Plug In mount for your Floodlight Cameras. One requirement of a floodlight camera is to install it in a junction box. So, it either needs to replace an existing floodlight or light fixture in your home. On this Do It Yourself mount, you will just need a round weather proof box, an outdoor extension cord, coax cable clips and a zip tie and with a few steps, you will be able to install your Ring Floodlight Cams, Wyze Floodlight Cam, Eufy Floodlights and Nest Cam with Floodlights around your home that is close to a power outlet.

Thank you so much for sharing your skills. You actually answer my question. I'm a DIY type of person and obviously love YouTube. We just bought our floodlight Camara ring pro. And I didn't want to use an electrician to install my lights. So I was thinking that I could used a 3 prong extension cord to avoid a junction box. So I found your video and it will be done! 🙏

I have been doing this for several yrs now..you can also use caulk to seal around/behind the floodlight base to the junction box and this also works great drilling through and outside wall to the inside wall to plug to a indoor outlet so u can mount floodlights anywhere around your house..
Fyi: Home Depot and lowes sell the power cord already per cut and stripped...

I just did this my fellow Texan. Thanks for the tip. Now I have multiple cameras for the same area. Like a backup for the main poe cams. HD had a sale for the wyze v2 spotlights at $50 so I snagged a couple.

Wow..this is great video..
I was planning on helping out a neighbor with there camera but I didn't know they bought the nest flood light cameras and where they wanted it they had no light but they had outside outlets near both, told them they needed a electrician to tap off the outlets, but i can definitely do this and if they want, like someone mentioned in the comments section you can drill a small whole in the wall and plug it inside the house to just like i was planning on doing with the nest outdoor camera in the first place..Thanks again

I'm not a electrician but i would recommend 1/2 in. ACC Non-Metallic Strain Relief Cord Connector and if want it even better 100% silicone. Since you should not zip tie or compress wires. They get hot and need the little room to disapate heat.
But if doing it the way of video. I would use 100% silicone to help it stay water tite. Since he is strapping cable she not move with the ziptie inside. Just a recommendation.
P.S. your review is what had me order a wyze floodlight & v3 to attach to it. I already had a v3 for over a week because of your reviews. Had to get floodlight and a 2nd v3. Unfortunately the floodlight needs replaced since connection died after one week. But floodlight sensor still worked like a ret floodlight. I got the $1.25 a month plan paid for a year for each camera.

Thanks keep great work up!

Ps this from a person who ran 12/2 bx wire from electrical box to its own 20amp breaker connected to a AFCI/GFCI outlet. When the bx was run up to hole drilled in sink. I ran EMT to run bx through. So as you can see I over did safety.
I would of got the AFCI/GFCI breaker but then I would have had to change them all to that which would of taking the grandfathered away. Would have been way too costly to replace all my breakers. Heck the outlet alone was like $35. 🤣

Haha, That's how I have had my Flood Lights and Flood Lights Cameras for many many years.

Well only in my Garage. Seems the previous owner of the house had it that way and I since kept it. Goes from top of front of the garage, into an outlet by the door of the Garage. I wish YouTube let us post Pictures and Mini Clips to responses.

Great Idea for sharing 👍 Keep up the good work Bro 👊

Thanks a lot for making this video clear and to the point. Helped me a lot to install my Wyze floodlight camera. I also used a 3 outlet extension cord along with a tool replacement cord to account for future cameras. 😊

This is PERFECT for what I'm looking to do. I need a floodlight in my backyard on the tree which is at like 30ft from my house or anything electrical. SALAMAT!
