For the unaware, one of the coolest mechanics in Fraymakers that wasn't brought up in this video is the assists. In Smash, assists are random and come from items, and in terms of game balance they can be all over the place. But Fraymakers looks to be handling assists like more traditional fighting games (which, to my knowledge, is a first for the platform fighter genre) so that already impressive roster of assist characters isn't just for party mayhem.

You referred to SSF2 in past tense like it was dead (and used very old footage), but the game is actually still in active development. Even without Flash Player it remains playable through Adobe AIR, though that does mean it can’t be played in-browser.

You say was alot... Rivals of Aether are still adding characters and you can download SSF2 and play it online and still has patches and updates. If anything advertise those games a bit while we wait on fraymakers

Honestly the most important thing to me is easier inputs for wave dashing etc so noobs like me can get into it. I understand a high skill ceiling but a low floor is also important.

The thing that drew me to their Kickstarter link was seeing Mr. Fancy Pants Man in the roster. The thing that led me to pledging $100 was seeing Alpharad as an announcer option.

Can't change my mind about Rivals of Aether already having all of these and being a super easy/smooth game to play
Only thing it doesn't have but is coming thanks to the amazing and passionate dev team is rollback.
There's a whole franchise being build upon the world of Aether

I believe the first indie platform fighter that I played was Indie Pogo - that was pretty solid for a good while, and Fraymakers is looking to be quite special as well.

Indie developers mod stuff into other games to advertise. For example; Yacht Club games modding Shovel Knight's helmet in A Hat in Time. Could this mean that indie developers will be making their own characters to promote their games??? And if so, will Mcleoudgames make them official through DLC on ports like the Switch?

I am most excited to see Viridian and Fancy Pants Guy in the game. Especially love how Viridian can switch gravity to help the player confuse their opponent and also climb ledges / recover / do aerials etc.
