Nick is spot on, the worst mistake was not going for it on 4th down at the end of the 4th quarter. I'm an Eagles fan, we did the Philly special against the Pats/Brady on 4th down... to beat the best you need to take risks

Shanahan also blew a 10 point lead to the Rams in the 4th Quarter in 2021 in the NFC Championship Game

The fact that some of the 49ers admitted to not knowing OT rules tells you all you need to know about how large the coaching gap was

The muffed punt honestly saved them and swung the entire game into KC's favor

Pumpkin adjacent is such an underrated line by Kevin Wildes 😂

Wildes was right with the Pumkin Alert. If that was his plan in the OT, than he shouldve gone for the TD on his first drive.

Great defences on both sides but Chris Jones was a beast 🎉

Man I needed Coach here to see if he would still hate on Nick!

Niners should’ve gone for it on 3rd&4 and on 4th down after that. I said the same thing as Nick. Worst case scenario they don’t get it an Mahomes gets the ball on his own 4 yard line.

Never bet on a Shannahan team to win a SB

After the drama he had to juggle in Philly. Just happy for Andy Reid's success.

Coming from a Niners fan POV, this loss lies solely with Kyle. The hubris in his answer to OT says it all. To assume he knew how OT would play out and he would get a 3rd possesaion says it all. He also abandoned the run in the 3rd quarter for 3 straight drives of 3 and out. He also contradicted himself by going for it on 4th down when down in the 4th but then kicks a FG in OT. He allowed time to run off at the end of the 1st half only to take a knee. Mr. Offensive Genius couldn't make adjustments to being blitzed repeatedly on 3rd down leading to numerous unblocked defenders. The Chiefs won but Kyle was outcoached by Spags and Reid.

There is the Dude that Chose Miami over the Chiefs at Arrowhead in the opening round. He must feel like some kind of fool. LMAO

👀players didn’t know the rules
Did the coaches even understand it??? Appears they did not and used analytics to cover the mistake

The 49ers defense were too gased to start OT.

I’m surprised no one is talking about the punt that went off that guys foot. I feel like that’s really what flipped this game, obviously Mahomes and the Chiefs still had to do their thing and the Niners has plenty more chances to put the game away but still🤷‍♂️

The balloons and the throne and red suit the whole show is just amazing

Shanahan doesn't trust Purdy enough to let him go down and score at the end of halves. He did the same thing vs Greenbay.

Actually, listening more about the playoff OT rule, I begin to understand why everyone is criticizing Shannahan's decision to take the ball first. There is no upside to take the ball first with this new rule. You simply CANNOT win the game no matter what you do with the ball first under this new rule, even if you score a TD. If you put it as simple as this, there is no way an informed coach would choose to receive first.
