I am 78 now. I was only 20, in 1965, when the rest of the World began to transition to Universal Health Care Systems from private and group health insurance policies. Back then, America offered the very best health care in the World and the hope of an increasing lifespan. Today, Americans have to struggle to find healthcare professionals who are qualified and willing to treat them. The in-home nurse was set to resign from his position caring for my disabiled sons because the cost of his insulin had become too high. As a Veteran of Desert Storm, I already knew that he qualified for VA medications at a lower reduced, negotiated rate. He eventually extended his education and became a surgical tech nurse at the VA. That was a pretty good pay off for the government taking good care of one of it's Vets. Lets stop making excuses for Republicans. The rest of the World considers health care a right, why not Americans?
