Watch live: White House holds press briefing amid calls for Biden to withdraw

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is holding a briefing Tuesday afternoon following her sometimes combative exchanges with reporters at Monday’s media availability.

Several reporters questioned Jean-Pierre about President Biden’s physical and mental fitness, with the administration spokesperson insisting that the press corps had not been misled about his recent medical exams.

The questioning came after reports indicated that visitor logs showed a neurologist specializing in Parkinson’s disease visited the White House eight times during an eight-month period.

Tuesday’s briefing is slated to begin at 1 p.m. EDT.
