I usually put a full dropper in morning time and style. Go to work and then shower rinse when I get off and add about 1/2 dropper for the evening. Then butter right before bed.

I don’t think I understand waiting 5 minutes before touching. I think of combing/brushing as distributing the oil I’ve applied with my fingers, so I comb (I don’t use heat) immediately, and leave the oil in until my next beard wash. I am a strong supporter of the 5min rule. After getting most of the water out of my beard (8") I apply beard oil to the hair & skin, then wait 5min before blow drying & brushing. Somehow the heat really brings out the best in a good oil and my beard feels so much better than if I don't use a bit of heat. Strange but true.
